Toronto wants to create black focused school.
The reason among the lots is that black students in High School are not as good as their white counterparts.
Though the Premier is against the creation of black focused school as at now but majority of the board members of the TDSB are really in for it.
Methinks this is pure racism, in this time and age when the whole world is now in black and white stuff. What happens to MLK's dream?, Obama's belief and others that believe black people are as good or better than the white kids.
I also find it difficult to figure out who is black in this, if at the end of the day they are able to achieve their aim, is it only African or the Indians and other Arab countries are part of them cos I watched the debate on TV Tuesday evening and Jamaican's and Indian student are part of the student that took part in the debate and condemn the proposition.

If I may play 'devil's' advocate, there have been problems over here in the UK with the education of young people of African heritage mainly teenage boys and an all black system of education was suggested because these same boys excel in their education when taken back to Afrika or the Carribbeans. The 'white' teachers are not fully equipped to handle our teenage boys because they have not understood fully, what goes on in their minds; consequently, it shows in their treatment towards them.

Some white teachers are intimidated by our teenage boys and judge them to be trouble makers and treat them accordingly; these boys can sense these feelings and so they react. Guess what!? they are labelled 'troublemakers', aggressive and confrontational thus causing them to lose interest in education because their educators do not care about them!!!

My dear, it is a vicious circle!!! I don't know if separate education will help... but I do know we need more African Carribbean educators in the system to help address the issues that our young men are facing
