this news bout a 12 yr old boy killing a man in (Prince Georges County MD) trying to attack his mother is current

FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (AP) - A year after being set on fire by her estranged husband, survivor Yvette Cade is joining a program to fight domestic violence through churches across the region.

Project Safe Sunday is in its fourth year of an effort to involve clergy in encouraging victims to report abuse and leave violent homes. The program, founded by Debra Williams in 2003 after she lost her sister in a domestic violence slaying, also urges abusers to seek help.

"One year later, I am here as a witness, a survivor and a soldier on the battlefield for Christ," Cade, 33, told a congregation of more than 300 on Sunday at Fort Foote Baptist Church. "Stop the domestic violence. Please."

Cade was attacked in September 2005, three weeks after a judge dismissed a protective order against her estranged husband, Roger B. Hargrave. She suffered severe burns to her face, neck and torso when Hargrave doused her with gasoline at the store where she worked in Clinton. Hargrave was convicted of attempted murder and sentenced to life in prison.

Prince George's County has had the highest number of domestic violence cases in Maryland for the past five years, according to statistics from the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence. So what exactly is in the water down there, why is this county always reporting such high domestic violence.

Poor lil boy. This must be traumatic for him.
I hope they are not too harsh on him, after all he was protecting his mom.
Its just unfortunate it turned tragic like this.

Abeg leave PG County alone.. What about Dekalb for your neck of the wood.. Everynight there is always shooting in Dekalb county GA.. Did you read about 3rd graders trying to massacre their teacher? It was in GA too.
Do you remember in 2006 about some old lady that shot some cops in her house? And she got killed by cops firing back, wasn't it in Dekalb?

I'm far from PG for now.. Talk to Pa J about PG county.. I live in Fairfax County and you can count how many negro on one block..

I could actually leave my house and not worry if the door is locked or not.. Its crime free. I see so much white people everyday,I even forget I'm black, LOL. Anytime I go to black neighborhood, I feel like I'm about to get jerked! "I SEE BLACK PEOPLE

Quiet neighborhood has their on underground criminals too..

Jeffrey Dahmer lived in a quiet neighborhood though he was tossing ppl as his meat in his salad, adding tobasco sauce to spice it up, flossing with tooth pick afterwards and burbing for a nice meal had

Forsyth county GA (off off 400 North in atlanta) was known as the most racist and redneck county in the whole of the south up (they were even on Oprah in the mid 90s to show their racist pride). Today you will not believe how many professional blacks are moving there cos of their low taxes, good schools and nice developed areas. Nice scenerary.

They think they can get away from us,

ps: someone told me one of the reasons, places like Ga dont encourage public transportations like trains or buses (like europe/japan) to go out in the surburbs is becos they think once they have that type of facilities going to the outskirts and surburbia's the blacks will come there knowing they dont need a car to live there. Thus its goes to a certain point and they are like Ok stop!!, thatsenough - dont go further

You know you are sooooo right!

I used to live in Alpharetta. One exit before Forsyth. I was the only one of "us" in my neighborhood.. And this used to be something I used to brag about... <sigh>

Anyway, I bought this cassette of Malcom X speeches. In one of them he talks about house negros and field negros during slavery times. How the house negro loved the master more than himself because he lived in the house... Anyway, he went on to say that there are house negros today! "A Negros that will pay twice what the house is worth, just to be the only one in the neighborhood"...

I was weak! That was me!!

I didn't pay twice for my house, but I definitely could have gotten more house for the cost, in Lithonia or Norcross or somewhere else. But I used to equate good neighborhood = white neighborhood... That tape, made in the 60s, shook me.. I vowed never to think like that again.

And I don't anymore. There many, many affluent, safe, beautiful neighborhoods that are not predominately white. I now look for those....

name any state then, maybe prince georges county - their average household income is pretty high, so hopefully its "safe" (literally
