Two people are dead after a three car collision south of Killeen late Saturday night. One Fort Hood soldier was killed and another soldier, his passenger, is seriously injured.
According to the Department of Public Safety, 30-year-old Jose Ruben Martinez Junior, a soldier at Fort Hood, was driving his Dodge Caliber southbound on State Highway 195 when he attempted a pass in a no passing zone.
Martinez's car hit a Chevy Caviler head-on, sending the Chevy into a third car, before the Chevy burst into flames. The driver of the Chevy, 49-year-old Christopher Okwuosa of Roundrock was trapped in the burning car, and killed.
Martinez was also killed in the crash.
A passenger in Martinez's Dodge, 20-year-old Jamie Delapaz Junior of Harker Heights, was taken to Breckenridge Hospital in Austin where he is listed in serious condition. The driver of the third car wasn't seriously hurt.
