Jesse Jackson reportedly also used n-word in off-air gaffe

Wow, Jesse.... Just wow.....

Jesse Jackson reportedly also used n-word in off-air gaffe

Story Highlights
  • Rev. Jesse Jackson used the n-word during commercial break, Fox says
  • N-word uttered in reference to black people during an off-air moment last week
  • Jackson apologized last week for making other distasteful remarks about Obama
CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- The Rev. Jesse Jackson used the N-word during a break in a TV interview where he criticized presidential candidate Barack Obama, Fox News confirmed Wednesday.

The longtime civil rights leader already came under fire this month for crude off-air comments he made against Obama in what he thought was a private conversation during a taping of a "Fox & Friends" news show.

In additional comments from that same conversation, first reported by TVNewser, Jackson is reported to have said Obama was "talking down to black people," and referred to blacks with the N-word when he said Obama was telling them "how to behave."

Though a Fox spokesman confirmed to The Associated Press that Jackson used the slur, the network declined to release the full transcript of the July 6 show and did not air the comments.

Jackson, who is now traveling in Spain, apologized in a statement last Wednesday for "hurtful words" but didn't offer specifics. iReport.com: Is Jackson still relevant?

"I am deeply saddened and distressed by the pain and sorrow that I have caused as a result of my hurtful words. I apologize again to Senator Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, their children as well as to the American public," Jackson said in a written statement.

"There really is no justification for my comments and I hope that the Obama family and the American public will forgive me. I also pray that we, as a nation, can move on to address the real issues that affect the American people."

A spokeswoman for Jackson's civil rights organization, Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, said she could not confirm that Jackson used the slur.

You know...i've thought and thought about this, and i cannot come up with any explanation as to why Jesse Jackson would do this.

i mean, it's ok to think it, afterall we're all entitled to our own opinions, but, he was giving an interview, why didn't he think to NOT say this out loud?

i hear this isn't the first time that he has had an "oops" moment because of a hot mike.

oh well.

is this a 'crabs in the barrell" mentality?

My dear, I am still trying to wrap my head around this. Something is seriously wrong with Jesse... His behavior is becoming stranger and stranger.. It is almost as if we can't rule out a possible loss of mental bearings due to some medical condition that we are unaware of..

i am dreading going to lunch because that guy might way-lay me today.

but seriously...i've always wondered who elected rev jackson the "black leader" and "spokesperson of the black people"

i sincerely hope that most people do not feel the way he does, i don't think he is talking down to black people, just because he is telling them that they need to be RESPONSIBLE and take care of their families?

please, if jesse jackson is NOT tired of seeing most black men in jail, I AM
if he is NOT tired of seeing these children being raised without dads, I AM
if he NOT tired of these kids running amok, being raised by the tv, girls thinking its ok to be video vixens and boys wearing pants with no belts and down to their ankles, I AM.

obama and bill cosby are saying what needs to be said and they're being crucified.

Jesse aint no damn spokesleaser abi na spokes soothsayer of dem black folks.. He definately aint mine.. But for the longest time, I knew that man was up to no good..

A fried of mine worked for him at that his Rainbow Coalition and she COMPLAINED about the man's character.. Just because he has Rev for the front of is name dont mean jack shit..

I have come to conclude that he only wants to remain RELEVANT which is the problem a lot of people have in this lifetime.. My mama talk say ' If you were born to STAND OUT, there is no need to try to dey hustle to FIT IN.. "

Leave Jesse.. He will never be what Obama is.. YOu see Obama was destined to be the First Black Presidential Candidate, The First Black President and the First Black Fine Man to be in the White House..

Jesse is pissed

Jesse Jackson like many civil rights leaders is pissed with Obama because he sidelined them like cheap suits. Jesse appears to be most vocal of them all. He is overdue for a vacation and needs to take one that will last after the election and should be able to cast his vote from wherever he is vacationing.

On the other hand Sidney love, this may just be a political 'trick' to make the white Americans think that Obama is not 'all that black' and kinda sorta pissed off with the average ' Nigger, (I mean blackman). And if the so-called leader of the blacks shows he is not in support of Obama, maybe then, the red necks would vote for him.

I smell fish in his comments! I am smelling a kinda 'Reverse Psychology' politics! jackson says, 'Obama is too white', then whites would feel safe that Obama would look out for their interest.
