Nigerian Idol Contest Debuts

A new talent hunt programme is set to hit the Nigerian entertainment industry as Royal Stride Entertainment Group has secured the patent rights to host the Nigerian Idol contest for the movie and music industry respectively.

Briefing newsmen on the development, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Royal Strides, Mr. Okey Dimoji, said the initiative which was fashioned after the 'American Idol' and United Kingdom's 'Pop Idol' in the United States and Britain respectively, will attract prizes and record/movie deals and promotions for winners of the contest.

"Our motive is to expose hidden Nigerian talents to take their rightful place in the scheme of events in the Nigerian movie and music scenes and our mission is to fulfill the life career dreams of music artists and actors who are disadvantaged," said Dimoji

THAT IS AWESOME!!!

When I worked at DBN-TV lagos, we once organized a karaoke Contest, and honestly, if you closed your eyes, you would think some of the singers were the real musicians!! Those kids were good!!!!!! Nigerians have got singing talents!!1 No accent, nothing!! just pure sing-along-very-real-sounding-music!

I pray this works!!

of course, we also had some William Hungs. But that was also fun!
