Is Obasanjo coming back third term?
I definitely hope not but who knows? that country is supposed to have laws but they do not follow them(the laws). Which kind democracy is this for goodness sake?
The Yoruba socio-cultural organization, Afenifere has described the alleged third term bid of President Olusegun Obasanjo as embarrassing to the nation’s democratic process as well as to the Yoruba race.

Ii think he should be the president because he is the best one ever. He is really doing alots of good things in Nigeria. He was the one that made europe forgive the debt of Africa.

But the guy is being selfish if he decides to run for a third term. Even if he's the best president in the history of Nigeria (which he's not), that doesn't mean he should stay beyond the recomended terms of office. Don't tell me there's no other person capable of ruling a country like Nigeria with over 120 million people.
I heard the President of Sierra Leone (Tejan Kabbah) is also thinking about doing a third term in office. But I don't think it will be possible because the Sierra Leone Army will simply kick him out of office.

i AGREE. no one says that the model of two 4yr terms is set in gold or that it works for every country everywhere. in fact i think that it is detrimental for african countries. we should either have a system like in canada/britain whereby presidents/prime ministers can sit for as long as their party is in favor in the country and where a vote of no confidence can be passed by house/senators to resign the president. OR simply have two 6 year terms. African countries are so volatile right now and just picking up that stability is of the utmost importance. without stability you CAN NOT have growth.
This is why some people are calling for obasanjo to return. In his second term he has been doing more than any of us expected, and in tune with what nigeria needs to be doing in order to set the bars in motion. The dirty groundwork so to speak. I was a huge skeptic of obasanjo in the beginning but his policies now and most importantly, THE PEOPLE he has surrounded himself with is phenomenal. There are more than enough dedicated people in his administration. It is important that this stability continues....of course it'd be nice if someone else can come in and continue on this part and even improve on it, keep some of the really great men and women there now, and replace some of the dead weight, that'd be GREAT. But this is nigeria - first we'd have to talk about which faction "deserves" the presidency now and then whomever that is will clear all the ministries and commissions office and start ALL over again. One step forward two step backwards.
Me, if obasanjo decides to stay, I'll be all the way, LOUDLY, for it!
