Funny enough, I actually think all these headlines about corrupt govs and leaders WHILE THEY ARE STILL IN POWER is a good omen 4 naija. Remember, that during Abacha and IBB'S TIMES we only heard of their corrupt acts AFTER they'd left power or in very whispered hush hush ways lest u be killed off a la Dele Giwa, Kudirat etc. Now, a sitting gov is actually facing trial albeit in England. There are a lot of negatives but there are actually also a lot of positives going on in the country. I see the leadreship climate actually getting better in the next TEN years.
I dare to make a prediction that by 2015, a lot of us diasporeans will actually be heading home more often/for good cos naija go get much better (not perfect but much better).

A London Royal Court of Justice will next Friday decide on the question of whether Bayelsa State Governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha enjoys sovereign immunity under the international law by virtue of his position as governor of a state of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

If the court decides in favour of Alamieyeseigha, then the bottom of the three count charge of money laundering levelled against him by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) would have been knocked off.

Alamieyeseigha through his counsel, Allon Jones, a Queens Counsel had yesterday filed an application before Mr. Justice Collins and Mr. Justice Silber, the two judges in the court based in Strand, that Bayelsa State is an autonomous constituent of the Nigeria federal state, and for that reason he is entitled to sovereign immunity.

If you don't know the worth of $1,000 dollars in your country, I shall pass on explaining that to you too. I am sure that if you had insisted on quiet reflection instead of trying to sound sacarstic, you would have read the prayer properly and understood it. If I have a house and 2 cars paid off what in :::; (do not want to use the lord's name in vain) will I need more than 140,000 Naira a month for. And by the way, leave my prayer to me.
