Modenine, Ruggedman Deny Feud
The perceived subtle feud between rap artiste, Modenine and revolutionary rap crooner, Michael Ugochukwu Stephen a.k.a. Ruggedman, has been denied by both artistes. Speaking with Entertainment Cafe, Modenine, whose upcoming mix-tape by DJ Jimmy Jatt, has been raising dust with a perception that it was produced in an anticipation to hit back at Ruggedman, said the track was produced and targeted at all those hitting at him. Said he: “I decided to produce that track because so many people have been talking rubbish about me. I am a super emcee, so I felt the track should be dedicated to all those hitting at me.”
He further said that the feud, which seemed to have been perceived and nurtured by their fans, is baseless because “Ruggedman has never appeared to me as a Modenine hater, but if he did and feels I’m talking to him after listening to the track, all is well,” he said. According to him, “after all, when he (Ruggedman) did Ruggedy Baba, people were saying that ‘Modenine, Ruggedman is hitting at you’ and I was quick to make them understand that he didn’t mention my name in the track.” Modenine admitted that Ruggedman was only referring to some hip hop singers in the song, which was also perceived to have been produced to attack him.
Ruggedman, who was recently involved in an auto crash, said although he has heard news about the upcoming track, he still believes Modenine was not referring to him. “I don’t have any business with Modenine, so I don’t think that he would want to do any track to hit back at me. More over, you know, if I’m attacking anybody, I would go ahead and mention names,” he stated. Both rap artistes have been perceived to be feuding because of the songs in the tracks they have been working on lately.
