Come on, we all know brothers, uncles, cousins, mama's cousin, neighbour, maiguard even, that has several kids by several women.
Look what is it that peeps are up in arms with Tuface about?
that he is not marrying these women?
that he's not using a condom?
If he married them all tomorrow in a mass ceremony, and continued shagging whomever, however, do we now become contented? we'll all be happy and move on.
I said governor of a whole state o, banned condoms. CONDOMS. and it didn't even make the newspapers. and men having sex with various women is not strange in this our society, it's not odd.
read that again. so what exactly are we tying a noose around tuface's neck for?
|
So I guess pulling out is not an option? Oh wait... It's the governor's fault!
And by the way we roasted that governor when it was posted on NR. Simply roasted him. We roasted MKO too! So I think people have been pretty consistant. Plus is it thier right to voice whatever opinion they have. Just like it is yours to chose to defend Tuface.
So if I told you that I told off my uncle who had children out of wedlock or I slapped my brother for doing the same, would I be permitted to say that Tuface is a dumdum? What kind of rules are these? They are so subjective. We shouldn't talk because we know someone else who has done the same thing? huh? This is an amazing arguement.......
Wow... I must say Funmi, you are going waaay out on a limb for this fellow.... I'm a little taken aback... Go on Al Sharpton!

your father, brother, uncle, cousin, domestic staff, gateman, teacher, boss, colleague, neighbour...............a great percentage of them, in Nigeria oh, are not having sex with a condom, and what's more, are not having sex with one person.
Fix. Them.

but funmibaby, in a way, whether he likes it or not, tuface is now a celebrity and in the public eye and a lot of kids, i suspect, are looking up to him.
as much as we would like to clean up our backyard, start with the man in the mirror, to make a change, we must also take a hard look at the people influencing our kids, and tuface is one of those.
popping out kids as if they were candy, is not a very good picture to paint of himself. the younger generation is looking at him.
oh well...i will continue talking to my younger brothers and cousins, as well as my son when he comes of age, let them know what i think is right or wrong.

I appreciate your response.
You know, the firm I work for conducts the most comprehensive annual study on young people in Nigeria, and guess what, 90% look up to their parents first. Next up on that list are older siblings. This is nationwide.

HAHAHA!!!..........perhaps i'm shagging tuface....perhaps i know his baby mamas....perhaps, perhaps....
Nah Sid. I'm just tired of what i think is hypocrisy. tons of it. it's easy to jump on someone on NR, feeling very contented, and justified, and then you shut off your computer and everything you ranted against is all around you in your own life. I mean, how did we get this way? that's the way i'm thinking here. i'm not judging nobady at all. i spent a good part of my day yesterday in the company of a female who would shoot her thigh to "trap" a so called celebrity. as in she would just take the gun and pull that trigger. i bet she goes to bed every night wanting to be his baby mama.
i'm sure this young lady's cousin could very well be on NR, on this thread, trash talking. yet we all allow it in our own lives. all i've been saying is think about it. they say when you point a finger, four more is pointing back at you.
you don't need to tell me ish. tuface didn't get that way by mistake, neither did mko or any of those peeps. all of us are culpable. we are raising these people. all of us are culpable.
as for tuface or whomever, you really don't know their lives and you haven't walked a mile in their shoes.

FB, point taken....and I admire you for staking your claim.
However, I still maintain my grounds that Tuface needs to be more responsible...if it were my brother, cousin, me, or anyone I know who'll listen to me, I'll say the same to them as well.. He cannot continue being being generous, and at the same time practising irresponsible and dangerous behaviours!!!

I fear!!
I have always had a problem with that "walk a mile in my shoes" stuff... Must I be bitten by a bee to know that I don't want to be bitten by a bee?? To me, it is not the fact that he has all these kids from different women, it is his dismissal of it. He doesn't acknowledge that he should have taken a different path when it came to unwanted pregnancies. Again, unless he says "I wanted all these women to be pregnant", the I have to assume that the pregnancies were not his plans. He can't simply say, well my father slept around I knew no better... If that was the case for human beings we would still be living in caves because every generation would simply do what they parents did...
There is some merit to your argument but I feel too many times it is used as an "excuse" and not an explantion. To me there are no excuses in this situation.
All I am saying is that anyone, Tuface, your uncle, my brother, me, have to make better judgements. Ok, you make a mistake here and there, but learn from them. You do that by first acknowledging that they were mistakes in the first place. Not the existance of the children, but the circumstances leading to it.
And as a public figure he should be no stranger to riducle. If you are going to enjoy the cheers, you have to endure the jeers....

@highlighted. that's exactly what i mean by you haven't walked a mile in his shoes. i've heard this and while i don't know if it's true or not, my thing is i really don't know. and you don't know. but tuface has said many times sha, that people don't know his circumstances and it's easy to judge but don't. and i respect that. everyone here is assuming it was a mistake. maybe it wasn't. and celebrities are the worst people to try and judge or know their real life or their real intentions anyway.

I hear what you are saying.......
but....
this is celebrity speak... If this is part of your plan, simply say so. We can't be waiting with bated breath on him to say what the situation is. It's like when a celebrity is asked about their sexuality and they say "Well my sexuaity is my business"... Riiiiigggghhhhhtttt, you're gay! Because straight people simply answer the question.
So when he is confronted and says nothing to address the multiple children but "Well everyone else is doing it", I wonder about his real motives. Especially when he does not say "YES I WANTED EVERY PREGNANCY!".. Hell we all understood Fela and the things he did. He was direct and open about who he was. And we accepted him for who he was. Tuface is playing both sides of the fence with the silence and flippant nature he addresses the situation. Thus he opens himself to criticism.
I, like everyone else, can only draw our own conclusion from the data available to us. Regardless if we walked in some else's shoes...
