....Obi should wait?Wait for what?

The boy enter...displayed skill..maturity..poise and the killer instinct..what are we waiting for?

I know Oruma has hunger..and with Okocha injured it would seem very unfair to put Obi in there ahead of him..so I can understand how the coaching staff took a chance with Oruma..which is ok..because U can really tell he wanted to work hard to try to keep his shirt...I mean..based on work ethics I give Oruma an A...but when things start going tough and the passes arent getting through to the strikers(his Primary job in Okocha's boots),then something is wrong.U cant help but sympathise with a guy like Oruma who longs so much to play for his fatherland...and even while watching him come off the field yesterday I really felt bad for him as I wish he just had that little bit left to compete for Okocha's shirt..U know..that final touch..that defense splitting pass..that ability to do the simple stuff that makes U go.."OKAY...SHIRT JUSTIFIED"..but it was missing. For someone who works as hard as he does U'd think he really deserves the merit and honestly..perhaps he does to an extent..but U still cant help but admit that sympathy alone does not win matches.Sympathy alone will not keep him on the field and keep players that can really make things happen on the bench,as we saw yesterday. His hard work paid off as the Man of the Match against Ghana but I still didnt see what I needed to see to convince me that he can single handled steer the destiny of a match the same way An Okocha,A Kanu or an Obi would....I still see him featuring in the Eagles and I really hope he gets to win me over one day..but I've seen him many times to know his capabilities and how limited they are..honestly.Obi didnt take long to convince me...even once we dey watch match and seeing SE struggling, with 10 minutes to go I proclaimed that if dem put Kanu into the match things will change..everyone resoundly asked me to go siddon somewhere...when they showed Kanu about to come in from the sideline..I was the only one cheering..everyone else was jeering.....two touches and a lob later everyone was jubilating a Kanu-assisted goal!three minutes later they were doubly jubilating a Kanu goal!SOme later said they'd never question my views again...same here. There're very few things I do very well....reading football players and matches is one of them...and 99% of things I proclaim boldly generally come to pass..
