My Dark Moments Over —Aghahowa

Super Eagles and Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine striker, Julius Efosa Aghahowa has said that his dark moments of injuries are over. Aghahowa recently returned to light training after suffering from a protracted injury that kept him out of action for his club. Aghahowa, who is in the country to celebrate his daughter, Isabella Aghahowa’s fifth birthday anniversary, spoke on brila fm this morning. “I thank God, I am back to action after a very long break. “As a footballer, one is bound to have injuries such is a trying period for one and my family, because I had two operations within three years.

“It was not a good experience for me and my club but, I thank God for my quick recovery. “I know alot of people have been saying different things about me. I won’t bother myself about their negative thoughts, all I know is that I’m back and I believe God will bring me up again. “I want to use this period to settle down with my family.

..maayn...I tell ya..Jag(as we adoring fans call him )has been one of the most unfortunate strikers to come out of Nigeria. He's an extremely gifted footballer who's move to Ukraine just put him completely off the radar from worthier teams...and Donetsk did not help his case by putting an extremely high price on him when other clubs in bigger countries showed interest.I mean...Aghahowa would've lit up the Premiership with his pace and work rate. Then the injuries..one after the other.I was really glad to see him @ the last ANC...and Augustine Eguavoen did Nigeria a grave injustice by putting the hapless Makinwa on the pitch against Ivory Coast instead of Aghahowa..cause Makinwa missed a couple chances Jag would've nailed..I mean..we dont call him Julius The Saviour for nothing! I still argue on cybereagles till today that he's still very important to the Super Eagles but they keep telling me sey I dey yan opaks.Case in point..the Nigeria vs Niger match..revealed to me personally that our rookie strikers arent ready for the big time...Ogbuke showed flashes of brilliance but still could not shake off his marker from..of all places..Niger!! We beat them 2-0 but I was expecting @ least 6-0!As strikers..are three best imho are still Obafemi Martins,Julius Aghahowa and John Utaka..in that order.Yakubu is good too but I really cant see him doing much damage in a match against the likes of France,Italy or Brazil unless something happens INSIDE the box..outside the box..he's useless. He cant dribble and doesn't have pace.I really wish Julius a speedy recovery and a miracle to get the heck outta Ukraine...I saw a EUFA match two years ago where they stuck him in MIDFIELD! No wonder dat yeye team no dey progress...he still managed to score two goals against Barcelona from the midfield position but when a huge pricetag is placed on an ageing player like that teams go turn am down...but in all sha..I wish him the very best.He deserves some sort of a break before retirement..
