Nigeria vs Sierra Leone? Medeen, Where u dey?

Samson Siasia will meet club officials in January to decide whether he stays on as the manager of Nigerian Champions Ocean Boys.

The former Nigerian international told BBC Sport: "If I'm to stay the chairman needs to calm down the supporters and give me a contract."

Siasia and his assistant Monday Ogigie are recovering from minor injuries after they were attacked at the Bayelsa side's training ground by so-called fans.

It is now uncertain whether Siasia will still be at the helm for Ocean Boy's first ever Caf Champions League match in January against Sierra Leone's FC Kallon.

"I don't have a contract with the club and with this attack it may no even be possible to go ahead with that," Siasia, who is also the assistant coach of the Nigerian Super Eagles, told BBC Sport.

"They attacked us while we were conducting training; they claim I was bringing players from outside and not from the state.

"It's strange that fans who claim to love the club so much could attack one of their own.

Siasia and his assistant Monday Ogigie spent time at the hospital after they were attacked by fans of the club, Ogigie needing stitches for his injuries.

Siasia who led the Nigerian under-20 side to the finals of the 2005 world youth championship is from Bayelsa, southern Nigeria.

His recent achievements attracted interests from the state government who approached him to take charge of the team ahead of the Caf Champions league.

But Siasia is not keen on talking about the champions league, where the team is scheduled to face Sierra Leone 's FC Kallon in January preliminary fixture. "I love my life and if people can go to this extent to protest, one wonders what their next plan would be," he added.

"I cannot comment on the champions league since I don't have a contract with the club and I'm not certain I will be in charge for that competition.

Ocean Boys emerged as league champions against the odds for the first time in their history last September.

They will now represent Nigeria in next year's Champions League alongside runners-up Nasarawa United.

FC Kallon is owned by the Sierra Leone captain Mohammed Kallon. I think they'll give your so called Ocean Fish a run for their money.
