Our disappointing season eventually ended with us in the 4th position. We could have easily been 3rd if not for that "....." player called Baptista.Well, there were a lot of positives to take from the season and several pointers that we will do better next season. Now,it is Arsene Wenger's hands to get the RIGHT players this summer and sell off the WRONG ones.
Ideally,I would like to see Baptista,Senderos,Ljunberg and maybe Gilberto leave and Eto'o,Ribery/Quaresma/Babel,Micah Richards,Makoun/Appiah come in.
Update:
-Bendthner and Eboue have signed new contracts with Arsenal
And this is also an official welcome to Mekino, the new gunner in the house!!!!

Lifetime Gunner in the house............PIfrike just summed our season. I believe Baptista has to go.......At times I wonder if he is truly Brazillian- poor first touch, lack of awareness, apalling vision, horrible passes and to think that he was a goal machine at Sevilla is just beyond reason!!! Next season will be okay for us and had RVP and King TH14 not gone on a long injury layoff, the season would've been different.

You are most welcome here Tajmahal....At least I av someone who agrees Baptista has to be shipped out.
I av got gists and updates:
1.Wenger seems to be interested in Michael Owen.
2.Adebayor has signed a new contract.
3.Arsenal's chairman,Hill Wood is planning to meet the American who is interested in taking over the club.
4.Bayern Munich wants to buy Van Persie for 8million pounds.

Of course Baptista has to go. And yes, I've heard about Michael Owen. We are always bombarded with Sports news here as they are breaking fresh. Owen should be a good addition to the team. He is a goal poacher who always postions himself well.
Got mixed feelings with Adebayo signing a new contract. He had better up his game for next season or ElSE!
I personally don't want Van Persie to go, but with the 8million on offer, who knows.
Mixed feelings re the takeover. But I trust Wenger. He'll help the Board make the right decision, whatever that might be.

Owen is a very good goal scorer and he'll probably score 3 out of 5 chances so he is most welome...Just tht all dat im injuries dey fear moi..
I feel Adebayor has stepped up from last season when he was a complete write off...Wenger mos def has faith in him to get better.
I think Wenger might not have a problem with the take over as David Dein is his close ally and he is thought to be workin with Stan Kroenke.

Breaking News!!
News doing the rounds in the papers and just now on Sky Sports News:
"Arsenal will open talks with Barcelona to sell Thierry Henry for 17 Million in exchange for Eto'o"
Don't know how I feel right now, but I can see it could be a good business deal. OR, it shows we don't really want to sell Henry, hence the type of proviso Arsenal has attached to the deal.
Ifreke, where are you?

I dey here Tiron.I read that too online and in the papers and I am caught in two schools of thought.
Firstly,Henry is fast ageing...He is going to be 30 this year and is definitely not the Henry of the past years.Though he could always cook up some brilliance and magic,I think Eto'o is a younger version and his finishing is tight.
Secondly, cant we somehow bring Eto'o in to partner Henry?
Man Utd are already steaming with d additions of Hagreaves,Nani and Anderson. We've got to show them we're ready for next season too.

Yes o, we've got to show the other top guns that we mean business next season. Don't know if you heard this, but Arsene said the best transfer deal he could do this summer is to have all our injured players fit.
And looking at the calibre of our injured players, AW does have a point. We should trust him to do what's best for Arsenal.
Yes, it would be lovely and a dream come true if we can bring ETo'o in to partner Henry, but I won't hold my breath.
I am getting fed-up with the annual Henry is going or staying business. I don't want the guy to go, but if his heart is no longer with us, then maybe its best for him to. We've had the best of him anyway. But I don't think he will go. He loves the Arsenal fans adulation too much.

I heard that and of course without any iota of doubt,Arsene was a bit right cos you are always sure of what u av and what they can do...You arent very sure if the players u buy will perform as much as u wud av loved dem to...All in all,I expect him to still bolster the squad in areas where it is needed.
Btw,make una sef dey try come this thread come dey post info wey una get.Una wan turn am to Ifreke's official thread?Abeg mk e no b one man show o.

Ifereke, how you dey? Hope you are cool.
Yea, I heard this news too but was just so busy (and fatigued) to post it at the time. Well done for keeping this thread alive since all this while. I know you might find it onerous atimes, but please don't get too tired my brother.
We shall reap the reward of our dedication and patience next season when; AW stay on, all our injured players become available again and we do the treble. (Cue the derision from Man U and Chelsea supporters!)
