Congo 1 Nigeria 0
Hosts Congo edged out reigning champions Nigeria 1-0 to clinch the African Youth Championship in Brazzaville on Saturday.
The only goal of the game came in the 65th minute when Franchel Ibara broke down the left wing before cutting inside and smashing the ball into the net.
The last time that the Congolese fans had any continental glory to celebrate was back in 1972 win they beat Mali 3-2 to win the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Both sides have also qualified for the Fifa Under-20 World Cup in Canada that starts in June.

...Zenke was one of the more enterprising players in a under-par total team performance to keep it real..he played fairly well but I think the commentator said he had a slight injury/fitness issue so he was subbed in the second half.He kept moving from the right to the left flanks to make things happen but the lackadaisical play of the midfield made it difficult as no free flow passes were made to him.He was played as the lone striker upfront and the long balls didnt help..personally..I think the coach should go!Nigeria kept playing long balls while the Congolese kept the ball on the ground. The goal they scored against us ehn...the defender deserved a flogging for that.I have a feeling the coach didnt take the best of Nigeria to that competition...even the reserve keeper was better than the starter.I would retain maybe 6 players from the team for the World Cup...The keeper,Zenke,Zarki,Bala,Iyam and perhaps the defender LFB that was injured...others need to be reassessed..

....some of dem no sabi nothing....if U know how many times I've made points they argue till kingdom come and then later on agree...one is the Aghahowa issue.....Aghahowa is still a very good player but folks keep calling him 'old',washed out,done....using their mouth to retire the guy before his time...yet when he comes to the National Team,he performs.Thankfully he's now secured a team in the EPL so he'll be in their korokoro eyes...and for a player who only trained with Wigan for 2 days before playing his first match for them yesterday he got rave reviews..then allofasudden they started to appreciate....

Oh!
I watched the game against Gambia and they didn't really play well. Zenke and another winger actually had a good game against Gambia. But the midfield was terrible. They couldn't keep possession even when they were playing against 10 men.
I didn't watch the final though.
