I know the Italian league is tough, but the Spanish league is not physical. Spanish players sometimes struggle when they come to England because they're not physically strong enough. Spanish league is more about skill and technic unlike the Premiership which is more about speed and strength.
Even Fernando Morientes struggled badly at Liverpool because he lacked the physical strength and speed to survive in the premiership.
