Christiano Ronaldo to stay in Man utd

CRISTIANO RONALDO has told his close friends he has no intention of turning his back on Manchester United in favour of a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Ronaldo is constantly being linked with a move to one of the Spanish giants this summer, but former United team-mate Eric Djemba-Djemba - with whom he speaks regularly - insists the winger will stay at Old Trafford.

And Djemba-Djemba, who made his United debut at the same time as Ronaldo in August 2003, revealed the part he has played in persuading the 22-year-old to remain with United.

"Every time I see him I tell him to stay where he is," said Djemba-Djemba.

"And I think he understands that. He has told me he wants to stay at United.

"The manager at United likes him, the players like him and the fans like him. So why should he go?

He has so many opportunities in Manchester, a great manager and everybody there will help him achieve all his ambitions.

He is settled, so there is no reason for him to go anywhere else. He knows that.

"Everything is going well for him now, but who knows what might happen if he changed clubs and went abroad?

"He can wait to move to a club like Barcelona or Real Madrid, because he is still only 22."

Despite failing to make a success of his United career, Djemba-Djemba is desperate for them to beat Chelsea to the title.

"I think United need to win it and Ferguson needs it," he said. "Four years is a long time for a club like United to go without winning the Premiership.

"And I think Ferguson will retire when he has won the title again. That's what's driving him on."

That's the best decision by Cristano Ronaldo. His game is tailor made for the EPL . And take it from me, he will never make it in the Bundesliga, La Liga, or in the Serie A. Just like most other EPL "super star", he'd flop anywhere outside of the EPL.

Dude, Christiano Ronaldo is one of the quickest and most skillfull players in the world. He's got tremendous ability, pace, power and he's also very intelligent. I believe he can survive anywhere and he's one of the best players in the world.

Man U is a great club but there could be other opportunities for him at Barca or Real anyways, he is still young and has so many years ahead of him

Omo, we're saying the same thing. As I said, Ronaldo's game, speed and dribbling skills, is tailor made for the EPL. But, take it from someone who knows, Ronaldo can't make it the Bundesliga or Serie A, and prolly not La Liga either. Once he leaves the EPL, he'll end up like all the other former EPL greats: Nikolas Anelka, David Beckham, Michael Owens, et al.

Do you want me to continue???

You got it all wrong. CR can hold his own and I believe can do it anywhere. Except Nikolas Anelka, those two British guys you wrote up there were quite successful outside EPL. If CR can do it in Englad he can do it anywhere.

LOL, so Beckham and Owens were successful by riding the bench, right?

Everybody and their grand mother knows that defence in the EPL is mediocre. Hence, any player with flair (Jay Jay Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo, Cristiano Ronaldo etc) and speed (Cristiano Ronaldo, Obafemi Martins, Thierry Henry et al.) would shine in EPL.

I just wish that Ronaldo would transfer to the Bundesliga or Serie A for one season only so that you guys can see where I'm coming from. They would snuff him out and render him impotent.

O pari

I agree with you LM. Ronaldo will be frustrated by those mean looking, rough playing, and ever ready Italian guys.

Exactly, the guy is class.
By the way, I agree with you that Beckham wasn't a flop at Real Madrid. He was first choice until Capello became the manager. I think Capello didn't like Beckham.

@highlighted. The premiership is a much bigger and better league than the Bundesliga in terms of revenues, popularity, fans and results in the champions league. La Liga is the only league that can claim to be better than Premiership because of their performance in the Champions League and UEFA Cup lately. Even then, the premiership is still more popular than La Liga.
