Imagine being dropped from positon 9 in the world to 36! That is a big fat shame on y'all. Ghana though slow, but they are steadily leaving you behind.
We had our best national team in the likes of Amokachi, Oliseh, Yekini, Siasia, Amunike...In short, the team that won 1994 nations cup and 1996 olympic cup. You know the team that nearly qualified for the world cup quarter finals in Atlanta then, but with two minutes to go, conceeding a goal? You know the one where bloody Ogun-efon took a 'toros' from Roberto Baggio? Sorry, you probably weren't born then.
Shame on the super eagles!

Abegi, go siddon! I watched these tournaments live and direct and was one of those who jumped unto the streets of Lagos to celebrate when the real Eagles brought the cup home. I think Abacha dash dem housed then or so...?
Man, that was the dream team! Amokachi the stallion, Yekini scoring a hat trick and running into the post almost tearing the net out of jubilation. Omo, Yekini is one of the best strickers we've ever had. Come and see Okocha on the ball, bobo dey dribble. No one could match Amokachi's agility, bobo just too strong. Amunike nko, bobo's corner na waya! Siasia nko, omo na wicked! I like the way e take re won ni ifase. Eguavoen, defender lomo latile until he fell for Roberto Baggio. Oliseh, omo what can I say other than i love you. Finidi nko? Did I forget Rufai? Rufai was great, even with his shaka shaka face, bobo dey segzy with his tall dark self. He was in top shape then, keeping all the goals.
We were good and entertaining. Oyinbos sef support us for world cup. Wake up jo, the ones wen una have now na nonsense.

You know something funny though? As much as I support Arsenal and sometimes watch their games, I don't get excited like watching my country play. I only love football when Nigeria plays. Well.....that until recently or should I say some two nations cup back when Super Eagles started losing steam. Agahowa did impress me in the Nations Cup before the last though and that Lebanese Naija guy; what's his name again?
Anyway, I think Flying Eagles abi na chicken eaglets are not doing badly now??
