Thanks Venus for making black folks proud; enough of the russian for God sakes.
Oh sweet Roger won again over Nadal(i respect that guy).
Congrats Roger, you've earned your place in history
|
Yes ohhhhhh, Roger did it and it was a classic 5-set final where he fought for every point because Nadal is in his element right now. Its the final you want to see, where it can go either way, and Federer even said he was lucky cos Raph was in top form.
He now matches Borg in 5 consecutive Wimbledon wins and is 3 Grand slams shy of Pete Sampras' record of 14 career grand slam titles......Go ROger, Go Roger, Go Roger!!!!!!

I will revisit this thread to inform all those laughing at Sharapova when she wins her next Grand Slam.

I want to see Sharapova up there in women's tennis competing with the best of them.
This year @ wimbledon the women provided the intrigue and the shockers: Mauresmo crumbled early, Serena was sent off by Henin as expected but Henin was beaten by Bartoli in a classic Semi, and Venus rolled on and won her 4th wimbledon trophy, and this year the pay was at par for both men and women, for the first time in grand slam history. Vive la sport!!!

Kournikova was a disappointment, but she was pretty though.

Trust me, the Williams monopoly of Grand Slams is over. The Russians put an end to that few years ago.

Don't agree, I think they can still do it if they work at it. Although when it happens, I hope it is a fight to finish. It is never really as exciting when they do finally get together and it might be because too much is expected of them.

That was beautiful tennis between Roger and Nadal. Didn't get to see the women's final, so I kept running to the computer to check updates

I actually wanted Nadal to win for a change. The Federer grass court win is becoming too predictable IMO. Anyhoo, well done to Federer and well played Nadal.

Nah, I was routing for Federer all the way. The guy has got style. I am glad he won. My next hope/prayer for him is that he wins the french open!

Let's hope that will be sometime soon. The girl is not all that she is hyped to be! And besides, she's let all that media attention get to her head. I liked her iitially, but when (after she won wimbldon) she started making mouth and saying she knows she should be no 1 yadah yadah yadah... I just stopped liking her.
I've never really cared much for proud people. I hope and pray she changes. She should learn from great players like Federer.
