Venus Williams recaptures Wimbledon glory
Venus Williams claimed her 4th wimbledon title with a straight sets win over 18th seeded Maria Bartoli of France.(6/4, 6/1). Venus was in blistering form in the tournament and Bartoli caused the big upset on Friday in the semis by beating world No 1 Justin Henin Hardin in 3 sets, after being one set down in the first.
Tomorrow nah Roger baba and Nadal showdown for centre court.....

...Thanks Kikis. Now, back to our NR Studios with Tiron.
Match was okay albeit a bit easy by Venus' standard. Was happy for her. She and Serena need to sort out their wardrobe and their hair though, but that's another story!
Can't wait for today's match. Hope it will rekindle my interest in men's tennis. Still miss Agassi.

Congrats to Venus.
Don't know what's wrong with Maria Sharapova. She's been letting me down lately. Hope she hasn't been confused by all those off-field activities like modelling and merchandise.

Federer just won the men's title.
I actually wanted Nadal to win for a change. The Federer grass court win is becoming too predictable IMO. Anyhoo, well done to Federer and well played Nadal.

Never really took her seriously TBH. To me, she is more into the celebrity modeling lifestyle IMO. I know she's won one or two grandslams (?), but nevertheless...
Can see and understand why men like her though.

I was only watching matches involving Sharapova, so my Wimbledon ended when she was knocked out interestingly by Venus.

I see what you mean, and didnt like her initially thinking she was another Kournikova!! But I've watched her over the years and the difference between them is SHARPOVA CAN PLAY!!!! She must be getting sidetracked by all the endorsements like Med said, the same thing was happening to Nadal before he lost a few matches and came back to his senses....If you follow the western media and their praises they will lead you astray. I want to see Sharapova up there in women's tennis competing with the best of them.
This year @ wimbledon the women provided the intrigue and the shockers: Mauresmo crumbled early, Serena was sent off by Henin as expected but Henin was beaten by Bartoli in a classic Semi, and Venus rolled on and won her 4th wimbledon trophy, and this year the pay was at par for both men and women, for the first time in grand slam history. Vive la sport!!!
