They all did well and it was a close game.

Thank God Eagles do not play dirty game like you would posit for Mali so we would see the best of soccer by the two.

I believe it will be a draw.

Medeen..dude..Ivory Coast didn't do JACK!Nigeria lost because of the hapless coach and his moronic selection. How the fuck do U insert Makinwa into a game where U need goals, and keep Uche and Nsofor on the bench?Ivory coast had three shots on goal @ most......Naija hit the bar once..go figure! If we go out i nthe first round..it's no\t because of lack of talent, its because of an idiot controlling the team

And here I was thinking it was my crossed eyes playing tricks on me. I remember yelling something crude when the coach inserted Makinwa and the guys next to be told me to go to Ghana and take up the job. But hey what can I say? I am just a girl screaming about "the boys' game".

Seriously though if that guy continues like that, I hope he does not meet Nigerian fans who feel like Colombians after such loses.

Well i think the Ivorians were better in defense and it was difficult for the Super Eagles to penetrate, defender Kolo Toure was outstanding. For the Nigerians Obafeme Martins & Mikel Obi played quite well they had good chances it was just unfortunate they couldn't utilize it. At the end of the day i'm so happy the Elephants won

Believe whatever you like but just know that an ouster of the Eagles is bad business for FIFA,CAF and Ghana Football Association. With the latter suffering the most.Pointers,Sekondi Stadium cost 39Million USD and has a capacity of 20,000.That stadium was filled up unlike the Accra stadium when Morrocco played Namibia.Any other stadium where the Eagles plays in an African competition would be a money spinner.Ghana FA is not hosting the competition because it has money but because they want more money through football hence, the politics of cup of nations event hosting. If Eagles go out in the first round, turnover would be below expectation.Go figureJust a hint on soccer economics.
On the group games, you sound somewhat sleekky after watching the Mali-Benin game why?Now you believe it would be a draw.Stay with your believe but learn to deal with the fact that Nigeria is rated number 1 in FIFA list for football in Africa.Nigeria did not use crude oil to get that rating

Hmmm...Meddeen in full flow.Oh well, you really do have alot to laught about because the Nigerian team y'day were nothing short of comical.I guess it has finally dawned on those who sat on their uninformed couch and raved for a foreign coach that a white man can be clueless too!..The team was pathetic and lazy...No real threat and no pace...I really wasted my time seeing that game...Thankfully,there was one piece of brilliance though - from the usually erratic Salomon Kalou.

well said Paj .Ivorycoast does not stand a chnace ,not with the team I watched yesterday. it was just pour luck and nothing else. come to think of it why are these teams always happy when ever they win Cameroon and Nigeria.? Meddeen Nigeria and Cameroon dominated African soccer for 20yrs . get use to it. let them produce the amount of players cameroon and Nigeria has produced in the past year. people lose some times. remember the tournament just started

watch out Cameroun is always full of suprises.I am glad no one is paying attention to us this year

Man, are these Cameroonians ever rough? Yet, they're getting mauled 4-1 by the reigning champions. Egypt is definitely a huge threat in this tournament.

You should congratulate the Ivorians for being so good. Your coach has now agreed that they're the best team in Africa. Maybe you should do the same.

You should be happy! I was getting fed up with the lack of respect shown to Ghana and Ivory Coast by Paj and co.

Btw, Egypt just beat Cameroon 4-2 even though the referee cheated for Cameroon. What else is new? They've always cheated for Cameroon at the Nations cup anyway. It could easily have been 6-1.

Egypt vs Cameroon 4-2. Are the days gone when Nigeria and Cameroon were African football giants? Time dawning on us?

Those teams are in decline. Don't forget that they both failed to qualify for the 2006 world cup in Germany. Before 2006, Nigeria and Cameroon had been to every world cup since 1994. I know the tournament is yet to be decided, but I just don't see Nigeria or Cameroon winning the cup.
