They played well though I must veryyyy reluctantly agree.

Honestly, its times like the past two days that I feel I shouldn't have been a sports fan. I'm a mature lady, what am I doing liking football anyway?!!! I'm getting too old for all these heart palpitations over football ojare. First Naija, now Arsenal!!!

Naija had better turn this around come Friday o

Well,I can understand how you feel but really it might shock you to know that none of the results, both Nigeria's and Arsenal's really moved me.I dont have high expectations for Nigeria in this tournament and they could just be back home by weekend. As for Arsenal,I think Spurs were more motivated to win and they had home advantage.I feel we should have played our first 11 and leave the kids. The only team that moves me these days is Arsenal's first 11!

Yea, I know what you mean. My husband shares the same sentiment as you. I had a premonition that Arsenal would lose yesterday to be honest. Spurs definitely were hungrier than us. They wanted to get one over us badly. Wanted to put the nine year psychological - and classy hold- we have over them to bed. So, they came out all guns blazing and won.

Funny enough, I used to live in Tottenham after we moved from Islington near Highbury about 17 years ago. You will not believe the ribbing we used to get from some Spurs fan. The rivalry between us two have always been fierce. One workman, a Spurs fan, refused to do some work in our house simply because we were Arsenal fans. Majority of the Spurs fans we know and met were/are nice though. My older son even went to St Paul's and All Hallows School next door to White Hart Lane. He took some ribbing too, but gave as much as he got. Anyway, I digress ojare. I'm off to work. Catch you later and have a blessed day.

These Senegalese had better perform today. They very friendly peeps and I'm getting tired of the disappointment they continually heap on their fans. They have wonderful attacking options and surely they must perform today. Players like Diouf, Heni Camara, Diomansy Kamara, Papa Bouba Diop, Mamadou Niang and others better get their act together.
By the way, we need to stop these North Africans from taking this cup away from West Africa. Morocco have already scored 5 goals in their game against Namibia and Egypt have already scored 4 goals against Cameroon. Senegal have to beat Tunisia today, they just have to. Oh yeah, there's gonna be a Senegalese party as usual should they win. I better start preparing my favourite Senegales songs.

Now that all the teams have played, the best team so far is EGYPT and that falls out of the predictions of the experts in our midst. If we do not start to proffer solutions for taming the North Africans, worst things than the demise of Nigeria/Cameroun in African soccer is on the way.

Egypt have been the best team so far, but I have no doubt Ghana and the Ivory Coast are capable of beating them. We must remember that Egypt played against Cameroon (a team in decline just like Nigeria), and their midfield is weak. Ghana and the Ivory Coast will use players like Essien, Muntari, Yahya Toure and Didier Zokora to neutralise the Egyptians. I'm not taking anything away from the Egyptians, all I'm saying is that Egypt played against a team I never believed will win the tournament. Cameroon need to get rid of the old players and introduce younger players.

My dear Audrey, I didn't say much about Cameron's defeat cos you're a special lady to me. I felt sad for you, but I must point out that Cameroon is a team in decline. However, I still believe you will at least reach the quarterfinals.

But Eto'o scored 2 goals. Why are you unfairly criticising him?
You should be criticising Song. He's too old and he's too slow to keep with the pace. Why can't he just retire from International football and give younger players a chance?

Yes! because he is the only world class Cameroonian player around. He plays for Barcelona, one of the giants of world football.
