Africa Nations Cup 2008
Ghana got the tournament under way with a 2-1 win over Guinea. I must admit that the Ghanaians should have won more comfortably. They hit the post 3 times in the first half and Muntari's goal was absolutely brilliant. What a goal! In fact, a few Nigerians would have been worried by that goal yesterday.
I can see Ghana being extremely difficult to beat. My only worry is that they lack a goalscorer (a clinical finisher).
Now attention switches to the Nigeria and Ivory Coast match. It promises to be a classic.
Here are the highlights of the match between Ghana and Guinea.

Agree the scoreline could have easily been something like 3-1 (or even 4), but Guinea had many chances too -- breaking Ghanaian defense -- only to make sluggish finishes.

Which chances if I may ask? How many saves did Kingston (the Ghanaian keeper) make? Ghana not only created more chances, they also had more possession. Even the Guinea coach admitted that was his team's worst performance under him. Therefore, Ghana definitely deserved to win. In fact, Guinea were playing like a team waiting to be beaten. They only started playing after their fortunate equaliser which came off the bar and hit the shoulder of Kingston.

And Ghana must try and avoid the Ivory Coast in the quarterfinals. They're an extremely dangerous team. I believe you'll be better prepared to face them in the semifinals when the players and fans will be more confident.

My Ghanaian friend is already nervous cos the last time Ghana and Ivory Coast played in the Nations cup was 1992. They met in the final and the Ivorians won 11-10 on penalties. He's claims the Ivorians use voodoo.

Dude I watched that game and was supporting Ghana, but I also wanted Guinea to display some resilience. They created some beautiful chances, but sluggishly shot the ball low into the Ghanaian keeper at least twice! Pathetic finishers.

So how do you see today's game (Ivory Coast versus Nigeria)? I heard Drogba is fired up for this encounter. Surely that not a good sign, is it?

Realistically speaking, Ivory Coast will not win. The best they can pull out is a draw, something like 1-1.

Let's wait and see, Nigeria will probably end up the group winner.

Fired up ko,smoked up ni!!
Does he think we are like Wigan,Derby County or Reading? I think the man that might even make all the difference is Arsenal's Kolo Toure.
