Berti Vogts drop Utaka,Makinwa and Apam against Mali.

When the Super Eagles of Nigeria files out to face their Malian counterparts in this evening's do-or-die encounter, three players will be missing.John Utaka will be replaced by Osaze Odemwingie while Apam Onyekachi will be replaced by Obinna Nwaneri.Another Obinna however,Nsofor, will be in line to feature in the match as lacklustre Makinwa has been dropped too.Nigeria need a win to remain in the tournament while Mali if they win will qualify for the next round.I wish Nigeria the best sha!

Trying to correct glaring mistakes now, are we? Football pundits knew beforehand that the starters against Ivory Coast were not the best. Kanu should be dropped as a starter as well.

...I disagree with dropping Apam...and I'd preferred Emeghara to Nwanneri.

I saw a pic of Seydou Keuta looking relaxed. I'm sure Arsenal fans know all about him after his display against them for Seville. He's looking like he's in the mood to dominate the midfield.

Oh brother! Even if the SE won the world cup, you'd claim they used Amadioha Technology, instead of giving 'em some credit.

I'm satisfied with Seydou Keita's performance so far. He has been involved in most of Mali's good work in the centre of midfield. You guys need to watch out for him. He's dangerous.

Nigeria looks to be going home. They need a win, and so far, mali's taking the match to them, big time. 20 odd minutes left, and no magic, the malians are playing much better

If that is the case then let them lose and go home, next time they will make up and smell the coffee. I guess one man makes a difference after all...talking about the retirement of Okocha. I don't think we'll ever assemble a team that will rival the USA '94/Atlanta '96 squad...

Just checked Vogts recent coaching history, the guy's had failures than success. Why he was chosen to Coach Nigeria still baffles me. Eguavon did much better.

...I saw all this coming..but I was hoping that talent would see us through...though we had not team chemistry. He dropped Kalu Uche,Olufemi Oladapo,Yusuf AYinla and Chidi Odiah...three midfielders..the first two being attacking MF and Ayinla a DM with an eye for goal...and Odiah being a defender that goes foward....what can I say?
