Berti Vogts ends Nigeria reign

It appears Paj's wish has been granted as Berti Vogts finally decided to quit as the coach of the Super Chickens.

Another supporter of Paj's bid to get Vogts fired?
I see.

What about the leadership of the NFA? Aren't they going to resign as well?

Much as i applaud the final decision of Berti Voigst and Ulli Stein in throwing in the towel,i hate the way it is now playing out in the German media.I knew that Berti would not wait for Nigeria to sack him.Call it the German thing but thats the way it is.
This morning,Ulli Stein who Berti took along with to Nigeria rubbished Nigeria and Africa in the area of football management.Get me right,he was not saying anything new just that he was simply pointing fingers at the wrong culprit here.Prior to the Nations cup,Berti and his coaching crew praised the NFA for a good football management and proffessionalism. It is a different tone now that Nigerians dared demand value for money. Was NFA behind the decision to travel to Malaga as a training camp-a fairly cold weather compared to Ghana where the tournament held? Was Berti Voigst ever owedd any salary and allowance which cost Nigeria through Adenugas benevolence 75K Euros monthly?Did NFA make the wrong choices on the pitch that saw a dismal-infact,the worst- perfomance of the super Eagles on record? He should take responsibility and keep quite.
What got me pissed was the blasting of football management in the whole of Africa and pointing fingers at according to him,a horribly organised Nations cup in Ghana.I would have thought that a good coaching crew would win anywhere anyhow especially if blessed with abundant talents like Nigeria has.Worst of his(Ulli Stein) comments is that if 2010 in South Africa would be a reality the organisation should be handed over to Europeans otherwise the world is in for the worst of soccer fiestas ever.
Africans should enjoy the insults afterall,we are the ones that submit ourselves to feeling inferior and ignoring our indegenous coaches who would clearly do and actually did better in comparism with the European coaches.

..oh please..no more Eguavoen abeg...enuff of coaches lacking tactical acumen in crucial matches....Siasia's my choice...though some say Keshi...I distrust Keshi as a manager though..he's played that dangerous game of being a double agent before....that was why the Adebayor thing cost him the world cup ticket..

I don't think their comments entirely correct, but I must say the organisation of football in Africa is simply appalling. With the exception of the North Africans, most Sub-Saharan Countries has struggled to properly organise their national teams.

All said and done, it's not entirely Vogts vault. The NFA should take part of the blame. Just because they payed Vogts salary on time doesn't mean they're saints. I find it surprising that some peeps are claiming the NFA did very well by paying Vogts and his staff on time because they don't normally pay other managers on time. Well, it might interest such individuals to know that Vogts was offering his services to the NFA in exchange for a monthly salary. Therefore, getting his salary on time is an implied or expressed term of the contract.

Oh boy! Here we go again. You know more than the coaches who work with the players.

Keshi should get the job.
But it's your call and making the wrong choice will be good for us cos we have to play Nigeria in June.

@Meddeen,Nobody is saying that bcos Vogst was payed as and when due then, he must deliver. It is not any different in Nigeria as it is everywhere with coaches and what they are expected to deliver as per on-the-job results.Christian Chukwu and Eguavon got kicked out bcos of poor perfomances that would by the way,be golden in comparism with Vogst's performance as SE coach.Meanwhile Vogst is regarded as a world class coach, living in the best area of Abuja/lagos-when he chose to stay in Nigeria which has never been more than 4days at a time, recieving better pay than any coach we ever had, operating from Europe as coach of a football crazy country like Nigeria-imagine that, blessed with abundant talents to choose a very hard to beat team if he was really a coach, insisting on working only with his crew from Germany i.e. Stefan Freund and Ulli Stein and so on.Nobody could have it better my bros and it would have been a different ball game if Nigeria got up to the finals.
NFA ofcourse has a certain blame for insisting on a UB coach(Unemployment benefit coach)over better options at that time. However, unlike in the past, they really supported Vogst and provided a good working environment for him including kowtowing to his demands that would otherwise be unusual if requested for by an indigenous coach.
My take on their comments is that they are not on the moral rail to cast dispersions at Africa on football management first bcos,it had no relevance to their bankrupt football knowledge evidenced by SE performance in Ghana 2008and bcos Bundesliga is not even in the class of best European leagues. Is Germany not in Europe?Where can Bundesliga be compared with Premier league,Seria A,La liga and so on.My bros, they should shut up and nurse their ineptitude massively displayed in the short contract with the NFA
