3 times African player of the year consecutively.
And Okocha was two times African player of the year by the same source that gave it to Abedi plus ANC medals: Gold, Silver, and Bronzes. Plus three world cup consecutively: two second round participant, with an honourable first round exit. Was highest paid African player. Plus one of the players of the world cup players of the tournament 1998. Plus one of FIFA top 100 greatest players of the century. Plus, he scored more goals in the ANC than Abedi. Should I continue??

The only African player of the year awards that Okocha won were the awards handed out by the BBC. The African player of the year awards were initially being handed out by France football and it was the most reputable African football award. In fact, those awards were being handed out even before CAF starting handing out such awards and Okocha never won that award. He also failed to win CAF's African footbalelr of the year award. So he didn't win it.

The fans, Africans and others, voted for Okocha to be their player of the year so everything else na story. BBC gives fans a chance to vote. As far as I'm concerned CAF messed up and robbed the Legend. Anyway, anything else you want to dispute from what I wrote there?

You almost sound like the Ferero woman up there.

Common bro, in your honest view, was Okocha a better player than Abedi Pele?

..I laff..these are the same people that gave the APOY award to the Malian because the Ivorian couldn't show up....gave the award TWICE to a wastepipe like Diouf when Okocha was making Diouf look like a rookie in the same EPL league they played in..dude..U're biased beyond reason...unlike U..we football pundits watch ONFIELD soccer...not stats...in REAL raw talent..Okocha is miles ahead of Abedi...Okocha's only problem was the he was too playful on the field...
