What Oba needs is a good agent. He's definitely too good for Newcastle. I dunno why the proposed transfer to Arsenal fail through. I'd like to see him with one of the top four, he's that good.

Arsenal don't have the money to buy him. Newcastle were reportedly upset that Arsenal wanted him, and they vowed to fight tooth & nail to keep him.

The only way they were willing to let him go was for a reported £20 million. Where will Arsenal get that kind of money?

C'mon, Meddeen, Oba is worth 20 million pounds. Put him a good team, and give him playing time, Oba would be one of the hottest strikers in the EPL.
After all, the same Arsene Wenger was asking about $30 million for Adebayor. Trust me, Oba is better than Ade.

Of cos he's worth £20 million. As a matter of fact, he's worth about £25 million considering the fact that Liverpool paid £20 million for Robbie Keane. Oba is right up there with the top premiership strikers, and I rate him as highly as I rate Rooney. But Oba is playing for the wrong team and he needs champions league football. Sincerely speaking the guy's a huge talent, but he needs to make the right move.

He's got the complete package as a striker. Pace, power, accuracy, can score with both feet, has tremendous headng ability, what more can you ask? The boy's good opari.

Huh??? What did you just say? Watch it, that word is copyrighted, buddy

And by the way, I agree with everything you just said! The only thing I'd add is that some of these African players could do with a good agent. Sometimes, it's all about marketing

The bolded is what its all about for our numerous talents in the European leagues. As usual,Meddeen gave a Kpomkwem analysis on Obagoal and there are many of our boys like him in the wrong teams.
For instance,Obi Mikel's potentials would have been utmost in ManU but his agents played a major role in taking him to Chelsea. The list is long.

@highlighted. Not forgetting the alleged £80 that was given to his agent to give to Mikel's dad. That was an article in a British tabloid. They even claimed the money was sent through western union.

Pity, the money from the sale of Mikel was used to purchase Anderson and look at what he's doing for Man U. While Mikel is usually left on Chelsea's bench. Mikel definitely made the wrong decision.

Arsenal were not looking to sign Obafemi Martins. Just another rummor like the xabi alonso one. All these crap are done by the player's agents to get a wage increase and get a new contract for the player in some cases.

Please think about this carefully, who's place will he take. When clubs sign players, they do so thinking he has a chance of getting into the team and will be good competition but i can tell you he can't take any Arsenal player's place. We are highly stocked up on strikers and we buy multi positional players which obafemi is not. he only played on the wing a few times for inter and did not do well.

£20 mill my back side. this guy is not worth £10 mill. Newcastle can keep him. Medden saying were will Arsenal get the money from selling players, where else?

There are so many other players Arsenal could buy with 20 million and Oba does not appear at the top or bottom of the first, second or third list. Let your judgement of him not be clouded because he is Nigerian.

Anyways i leave on a good note by saying Naija to beat Belgique 2-0 and reach final of olympics.

Firstly, I'm not even a Nigerian and I'm considered to be anti-Nigerian by some peeps on this site. Believe it or not it's true. So I'm the last person anyone would expect to put a biased valuation on Matrtins based on the fact that he's a Nigerian.

Secondly, Martins is not only a better player than Adebayor, he's also a better finisher. Do you know the number of chances missed by Adebayor every game.

Finally, I hope you realise that the big stars in world football are unlikely to consider coming to Arsenal cos Arsenal is now largely considered to be a selling club. They do not hold on to their best players, hence their lack of recent success.

Oh and by the way, Maritns is definitely worth £20 million. The guy can play.

Arsene Wenger only last week said that if buying a player for £30m will win him the EPL,he will gladly buy him. So what?

I think Arsenal has the money, alright. How many players did they sale this last season alone?
Wenger is just being cheap....he always prefers to go get some young inexperienced players on the cheap, which is very commendable but, sometimes, you still need a few experienced players to make the team jell the right way.
