Well,this forum has been dead for a while now and it seems that folks have gotten thoroughly fed up with nolly videos!So i have decided to sacrifice myself and my time to see some new HVs and give reviews to liven up the place a lil' bit.
I have rented the following;
1)Douglas My Love(Did someone say something negative about this one?)
2)Sacrifice For Love
3)Days Of Bondage
4)My Life Story
5)Fire Love(Dis wan fit burn me sha,but no yawa!)

-I slotted the very first HV on the list(Dougie my Love) in the DVD player and it did not not play.I pressed the start button and i got a freezed up image.So no review here.

But it means that i will not have to pay

-Sacrifice My Love:-
Stars Emeka Onyiocha and Muna Obiekwe as inseparable childhood friends born on the same day and in the same hospital.Their tight friendship causes neglect of their GFs,that then causes friction.In the meantime one of the two(Onyiocha) is facing a fraud conspiracy at work......It also stars Ini Edo as Obiekwe's GF and Oge Okoye.Directed by Adim Williams.
This one does not try to rise up from it's grade as an HV.It will definitely find favour with a fair number of viewers,but expect nothing groundbreaking from it.It is in two(or more) parts.
Rating:- 3.5/10

-DAYS OF BONDAGE:-
Screenplay by Tchidi Tchikere
Directed by Michael Jaja
Stars:-Stephanie Okereke;Clarion Chukwura-Oduneye;Muna Obiekwe
A mother(Clarion) lives with her daughter(Okereke) together.The mother is a streetwalker(hooker) who wants to draw her daughter into the trade.The daughter refuses and mother gives her hell.
This HV is the best of the lot and features the leading casts in topform.The dialogues are well above the HV standard(as one would expect from Tchidi Chikere).
Recommended.
Rating:- 4.25/10

-MY LIFE STORY:-
Features Tuvi James and the very pretty newcomer Nkem Okafor playing kids of a deadman left at the mercy of their uncle who maltreats them.....
Honestly,i stayed with this video because of the very cute looking newcomer actress Nkem Okafor.As soon as her xter was snuffed out,i removed the disc from my player,and that was that.
This actress and the title soundtrack are the only highlights of this very average HV.
If you are curious about this new actress,then go pick this one here.
Rating:- 2/10

FIRE LOVE:-
Desmond Elliot;Uche Jumbo;Jide Kosoko;Rachael Oniga
Elliot plays a richman's son who breaks female hearts all over the place.
Very ordinary,this HV.Do not expect anything from here.Elliot continues to appear in crap movies full steam ahead!

...thats what we call the bashing of Nollywood movies! Ewo...am still on strike sha, I no gree watch any Nollywood movies! So keep on doing ya thang, Egbon.

These are very harsh reviews o, Vince. But should i say serves you right? I mean what would you expect from a movie with a name like "Douglas My love' or 'Fire love' or even 'Sacrifice My Love', the names alone suppose don tell you say nothing good fit come out of dem.

I no bin care about the names jare!I just close eyes pack them!
I bin talk am sey fire go burn me for "Fire love".Immediately wey fire begin burn,i commot the CD one time!

Na God just save you.The almighty didnt want you to smash your tv that day in annoyance."Douglas my love" is one of the most "uselessesest "films I have ever had the misfortune of watching.Starring the usual irrities like Tony Umez and Lilian Bach and with a wack title...so I have no one to blame but myself...I should have known better.I posted it in the "worst movies" thread sometime last year!

I have seen those movies at the video club and didnt even go close to them...am a bit selective about the films i watch and once the producer or director's name is strange, it takes my favourite star to be in it before i can watch or better still, if someone else convinces me so much that its worth watching. Anyways sha vince, shine ya eyes next time, those titles self say so much!

Vince I'm guessing u're a romantic at heart and not scared to show it cos virtually all the movies u rented were love stories.I was thinking u'd be more into the macho type thing.But it's all good.

I watch all kinds of movies,almost all kinds.Love stories just happen to be the most frequent genre in nollywood,so how for do?
