This is a very smart move. As noted in the article, Americans follow the lead of their stars and musicians. So if Snipes can get the name of Nigeria and the movie industry out there, the better for Nigeria. A great marketing strategy for tourism.
Ghana has done wonders with tourism by people of African descent by being inviting and accomodating. Let us be real, Africa is not having tourists pounding on its doors.

dont call it a dream i met oscar "nominated" actor DON CHEADLE of HOTEL RWANDA fame, at an event downtown atlanta last year and i spoke to him, he asked me where i was from and i told him Ghana, He beamed with smiles saying he has met a few Ghanaians and Nigerians in LA and thus they've prompted him to visit there both countries this year, he also said since Hotel Rwanda he has been doing a lot of non profit stuff in Africa ( i guess he meant Rwanda, they just use they word africa so loosley lke its one country) and also plan on directing and producing movies based in Afria once he gets the good story plot (he is such a charming guy).
I told him we have a lot of good actors/tresses in both countries and thus he should look out for the likes of actresses like Genevieve Nnaji - he repeated after me and i guess was going to ask me more about her,. Just then some lady behind me interrupted our conversation and asked for an excuse for an autograph, after her a few more ladies came, so i didnt get a chance to continue our conversation. I said it was nice meeting you - he said the same and then he had to get on stage and give a speech so i didnt get a chance to meet him again.
At least i threw out Genny's name, and hope he remembers.
