Hello Passer_by I'm not going to reply you the way you should be replied ! I'm a gentleman and will be gentle with you ! But it’s not nice to call somebody's idea rubbish, its ok not to support, but degrading it places you on a pedestal which I don’t think you belong. Moreover, if you're praying that it will not work, then upgrade (supersize it ) to fasting, because it started working already. Some local distributors in the Midwest (US) have been contacted, and the reasons for the boycott well presented. They in return have contacted their suppliers in NY and NJ, who claim are aware of the situation and are working fervently with their reps in Lagos to cut down supplies if the situation is not resolved !

Today, a fax followed by a phone call was sent to 2 major distributors in Ghana, and they are also not comfortable with the ban because they know sales have flopped all year long, and are therefore will to contact their associates in Lagos to resolve the situation.

You may not know the power you have to change situations of this sort, but some of us do! And the situation will change..... Guess what ? some of us care so much about Nollywood, and the Naija movies you don’t value such that we will make sure things are better to turn patriotic citizens like Passer_by around !

Alutha Continua !

Nollywood must Rise !

Passer_by, you are right on your choice of words, you’re you, so just keep being you. After all out of the dumpster comes out garbage, and the Holy Bible says out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Your words define you more than you know. Don’t get me wrong I appreciate your inputs and the disagreements, but it could be in a civilized manner than “throwing stones” at each other.

Anyway, you seem to be missing the whole idea of the boycott, you can generalize it fine, but for the last year that these STARS were banned, what has Nollywood really produced? If you think these movies are rubbish, it’s because you probably haven’t been watching the right movies. There are some movies that are worth watching over and over again.

Why the ban? Where in the world would someone impose such an act on another person or group of this sort? Except in the Amins, the Castros, and other dictatorship worlds. Why can't the actors/actresses be left alone for a fair competition? Why can’t producers use the cast they prefer? And why can’t an actor/actress define his/her worth? These factors when attended to positively bring growth in every environment. Criticisms, competition, and free enterprise system opens the right door for every entertainment industry.

You talked about new and better talents dear, competition is what will bring out the best in these stars not (((banning))) others. And you think these actors/actresses are not talented? I think Passer_by, you need a “personal check” because Maestro Charlie Chaplain himself will not say what you're insinuating. Be nice Passer_by

PASSER-BY OR WAKA PASS OR WEYTIN YOU CALL YASEF....
IN AS MUCH AS YOU RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SAY NAIJA MOVIES ARE 'RUBBISH', YOU ALSO RESERVE THE RIGHT TO USE YOUR MOUTH TO SPEAK RUBBISH.
AND U ARE EXERCISING THAT RIGHT MOST BRILLIANTLY!

You aint got a clue, so no need to waste any more time looking for a starting point for your course 101 on industry development.
KEEP ON RENTING YOUR CHEAP PIRATED HOMVIES, SINCE YOU HATE THEM SO MUCH!!

And all this epistle because?
Am saying u have got no darn idea and u r addressing the wrong audience...why r u asking me why they banned them....?..why dont u schedule a meeting with the "banners" to figure out why they banned d "bannees"..
And how am i throwing stones?...since did when speaking d fact become throwing stones?....
Look the point is whatever goes on in the industry should be behind closed doors....the board members/employers VS the employees, they should come to an agreement and strike deals with demselves....am just interested in getting their end products sefini and again as long as its gives me the entertainment i want i dont care who they are casting.....so stop being an asss licker!!

So what?..sales are dropping...they will pick up soon as pple get used to things....if u r the kinna of person dat believes things cant or will not move cos certain pple are not in the industry...i think u should sit down and re-evaulate ur life.....

They should sort out their issues but pending , life goes on
U keep questioning the morals behind d ban...i think u should question urself why u cannot watch a film cos it hasnt gotten dat 43yr old man acting like a 28yr old and panting like he needs more oxygen in his tank....or that chick everybody sees everytime in d films dat make dem yawn(yup they bore me)..cos to u they r supposedly the greatest actors and none can be like dem..or better yet...can bring entertainment into ur homes.....

Again...go to iweka road..strip naked, wriggle ur body and dance to d tune in ur head and preach boycott... me and ma croonies and anyone who cares to will keep patronizing dem...end of story......and then goodluck in ur boycott but a word of advice , dont quit ur day job.....

PS:can u like merge ur replies together next time?....thanks in advance!!

Passer_by you sound like a rep of the marketers trying to wear a mask ! take off the mask and let's debate the issue ! Else, I will say that you need to go for another Psychiatric visit. You make no sense ! maybe if you tone down a little others could understand you !

Why are worried if i'm addressing the wrong audience ?

Sales are down, and they're gonna go down further, unless you guys put your $hit together and stop harrassing pple who are talented and gifted than you !

FYI, 6 major distributors in NYC have expressed their concern on the ban and the drop in sales, which is good news to some of us, and I guess bad news to you, and your assoctiation

The boycott is still on, we are not buying anymore (((new))) movies !

Stop the harrassment !
