I think you guys have not really addressed pom's real request.
What would you guys like to see in a love scene?
I think that is what she wants to know.

In the movie 'The Prosititue' with OMOT and Segun Arinze. The love scene was really nice made. i can still remember when they were complaining in naija that they could see omot's yansh! Although someone could only see shadows moving and then they slowly zoomed the the slow motion happening between the both of them. I think it was very nice made and not too exposing or something. Besides that I never saw any kind of love scene in any naija flick. Or do you mean the love scenes where they pursue each other all around the bush, feed theirselevs with ice cream and give each other kisses on their cheeks?

Nigerians are now doing enough regarding love scenes.
If you want improvement, I will have to refer you to Hollywood movies
1. Matrix Reloaded
2. She Hates Me.
3. Love and a Bullet.
4. The 3 Trois, 2 "Pandora Box", 3 "The Escort". (Dont confuse the spelling though. There is Trios and there is Trois)
Or try and get Soul Food the series, you will get more than enough there. I only see season one in Blockbuster.

About time someone started this topic, long overdue.
Now let me say this Poms. Naija movie love scene really suck. Its not natural at all. I mean i cant even pin point one movie where there was a goood love scene, and my definition of a love scene is foreinstance american movies like "Love and Basketball - starring omar epps and sanaa lathan" - u know whattam i am saying to you, not too much, not too little - just descent and right on point.
I just recently saw autobiographical movie "Get Rich or Die trying" starring Curtis "50 cent" Jackson and Joy Bryant" and for a first timer i think 50 did well in the love scene with Joy - I really liked it - it wasnt too profane, it was like a 1 min clip - but descent - Very impressed with Curtis.
Monsters Ball was damn near porno movie - and no one can convince me it wasnt real - i cant imagine how much tricks it took to do that scene - it has to be real. I think it was too much- way too much - not descent in my books. I did not like the extent of exposure Halle did on that, and to get an Oscar for that was simply bull sh yt if you ask me. Thats my personal opinion - nobody has to agree with me. If Angela Bassett did not get an oscar for Tina, then i dont understand why halle would for Monsters Ball (maybe she did for her crying scene at the hospital when her son died - i dont know) - but thats another topic - lets not deviate.
For naija movies i think loves scenes like that will be frowned upon by the majority ppl cos they are not used to that type of thing". To date i will say "He lives in me" was pretty neat - but i mean it was just a kissing scene, nothing major. I havent seen a love scene in any naija movie yet.
What i will like to see is if nollywood dont want to go all out in love scenes, at least open ya damn mouth when you are kissing. One person who p isses me the hell off when kissin is Omo T. I mean what the hell. Open ya damn mouth, if you are going to act - just go ahead and act and stop fooling around. We all know damn well many of these nollywood actors kiss like that due to their significant others not liking them act like that - then if thats the case dont ACT period, dont waste the audience time.
This is 2005 - times are moving fast, dont just crawl - when Hollywood, Bollywood are running.
If i was a director and you told me you cant kiss - i'd tell you to look for another job cos you aint gon waist my money right here - do it or get the h ell outta dodge, dont waste my time. This is a movie, not kindargarten play house.
Thats is why i love Genny, ma gurl is dead serious about breaking into mainstream hopefully Hollywood, and i promise y'all she will, i have so much confidence in her. She did the damn thang with Muna in "He Lives in Me".
Now all the other actors, keep giving pecks on the lips - they aint aint impressed me yet.
Now Ini Edo, i tell y'all that girl can do some damage (in a good way) in love scene if given the open window, evident from several flicks i have seen with her in it. She has that "i dont give a damn - i will do it " attitude. She needs to chill on ma man Muna though, I am counting, Ini, i am counting. I warned u.
Now everybody here on this board - i raise my hat to MUNA Obiekwe , no body does it like he does - and thats why i love "He lives in me" with Genny so much, i hope he doesnt change when he marries. Our one and only RMD does good too. Ramsey, he aight - all others dont impress me yet - "in their love scenes". Every movie i see with muna where he has to kiss - he does it right, makes it believable. And that is what movie is all about , making it believable for the audience to enjoy - and not doing it fake.
Oh migahd - how can i forget Stephanie Okereke - she is good too, but bare in mind, all i am talking about are kissing scenes cos i havent seen any "love scene" yet. So my top 3 ladies for lovescene, if given the open window, are Genny, Stephanie and Ini. For the actors, its Muna, RMD, Ramsey and Enyiocha.
So on that note, There is still more work to be done.
I will rate it 3/10 - for now.

Question: What would you guys like to see in a love scene?
Answer: We wanna see more skin.
We wanna see them kiss saliva to saliva - no effects!

There was a movie with Jim Iyke i cant remember, but the story line was that jim was dating Genny yet his mother wanted him to marry some village girl, so the mom arranged for the village girl to seduce Jim when he got drank one night. Well that movie shocked me a little cos the "Sex " scene with Jim and the actress was someting i had never seen in a naija movie, but it was believable.
Note i said "SEX" scene, not "LOVE" scene. 2 different things.

Jim Sex scene always seems real. He raped Genny in "Promise me Forever" then "Shattered Illusion" The opening scene was him with one woman like that. The woman she killed after having sex with her. Jim was a lunatic in that movie. A women serial killer.

So far, I have yet to see a nice love scene...however, a kissing scene that look almost real was the movie called song of sorrow for me. I will love to start seeing some "skin". We don't have to see it all, but it can still be done in a diplomatic way all the same. All that hiding behind the clothes ain't going to cut it. For the love scene to be believable we need to be able to feel it to a certain degree. But this just kissing and touch here and there and then hit the bed and then its OVER is not a love scene to me but just a cheap way of acting. There have been numerous Naija movies that I have seen that after the couple are done with the 'sex scenes' they are still fully dressed. There should be a way to make it look real. The question is what are these actors afraid of anyway? What people will say? As actors, they should be able to act and forget what people will say.

I've also seen the movie you were talking about. The title is called ONE LOVE. Good scene i enjoyed.
There is also anther movie where he, Jim Iyke, had sex with one girl( i think was mary okolo). Very believable...i'd look for the title.
