Thats my personal opinion - nobody has to agree with me. If Angela Bassett did not get an oscar for Tina, then i dont understand why halle would for Monsters Ball (maybe she did for her crying scene at the hospital when her son died - i dont know) - but thats another topic - lets not deviate..

.OMG I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!
Someone that actually sees my point i thought i was the only one that thought she only got and academy award for best porno actress in a movieand angela bassett couldn't get it for all that tranfromation she had to do to look like tina i thought it was a damn shame and i thought her speech was just irritating i mean so you are trying to day that if you wanna be a good actress or if ya wanna get an oscar you have to be ready to moan and groan loud enough with a ugly white man one top off you. oh yeah did i forget the part where you have to be able to let it all hang out. honestly i lost all respect for her after that

thank you i mean if you are not going to make it look real don't bother doing it at all leave us to our imagination e.g rmd and genny in darkest night they gestured it and just left the rest to us same thing in keeping faith they just show them after they are "done" nothing fancy just leaving us fill in the blanks i mean if you are going to lay or get layed on camera do it right or don't do it at all.
but at least they are better than Yoruba films were the only way a couple greet each other is by a casual hug nobody says you should go french with each other but at least a nice mouth to mouth will do e.g abusi edumare lola alao with rammy shitta a quick kiss did the trick nobody asked for the sloppy joe stuff sheri ilerika and yemi sholade had going on in surutu now that just makes you wanna just throw up.

@ Lola Americana:

Yep! u're so right. The kissing scene with Genny & Rmd IN KEEPIN FAITH was just so good. very real, melting and u feel they're both really enjoying it. Also RMD and SDA in Intruders-nothing heavy, just really sweet and nice. Omo-T has got to be the worst Kisser, they should just stop including them in her parts. I can't wait for when Nollywood will start doing quality love/romantic scenes a la American President (w Michael Douglas and Annete Bening-love that movie), Pretty woman, Prince and me etc Love scenes that actually leave a smile on the viewers faces and a glow in their heart.
@ Pompom- I would love to see a love scene with Genny and Chet: me thinks the chemistry would be just simply fantastic! Perhaps your next movie should be a romantic flick. Include all our titbits from NR. I'm dying to watch BETTER romantic flick than Keeping faith

Note i said "SEX" scene, not "LOVE" scene. 2 different things.

The film u're talking about is One Love, still yet to see d part 2. I agree with u dat d scene was quite believable.

I SECOND YOU ON THAT ONE! Genny seems to get the gist of what a good kissing/love scene should be. Remember her flushed and giggly mood after kissing RMD for the first time in Keeping Faith? Made you just wanna be her right then.

All we're hearing is what we all want, but how about what the agency will allow? If Femi's Bang Bang Bang could be banned and we haven't seen any inprovement since then, why would folks make the movies? On the second hand, we all know how bad we can be with name calling. If they make this movie, they'll suddenly go from actors to ashewo. And lastly, Our culture is not tolerant of things of this nature. I mean, what man will not mind seeing his wife/girlfriend sharking naked on TV? I know some men won't mind sharking with another woman on TV, but a hurt woman can't be a pretty site.

I did not understand your last statement but you have a different but very valid view. Bottomline there are still so many Africans who hold the view that all actors are ashewos even with just kissing. I think it is because most people do not see behind the scene footages of how these things are done.

However, movies do teach or are windows into our lives. Whether we like it or not, what obtains in many African homes is not love making and that accounts in part for many divorces when these couples move to the Europe or North America.

One thing I noticed in Naija is that a lot of men hug or kiss their wives more these days than they used to when i was growing up, and i am giving that up to the 15 years influence of Nollywood.

I believe that film makers should tell their stories properly and there are several tricks and ways to do it. Don't tell me two people are making love fully cloth unless they are cheating and have to get the hell out of there fast. If you risk your flick being banned then for goodness sake cut another version for that country. Nigeria is even divided, if I had, I would cut a different version for the north and the south.

No that is Gbenga Richards from way back "Mirror in Sun" days. He acts Mr. President in 30 Days and that's Joke who acts Dupe Ajayi his minister of State. That combination is Nollywood history right there.
