Just saw this ... not laughed this hard in a while. Every set provides ( I hope) the actors with plenty of listerine, breath mints and dedorant... if need be body oil...

I'd like to see less clothing and extended love scenes more in Naija movies, although since we're not a western society this might take a while, overall, the filmmakers, actors/actresses, producers, directors, etc are doing an awesome job to get the industry to its present state...

I FF the scene where they kiss. I turn off my DVD when they're about to do some God knows what love scene.

I hope they improve in that area. God knows i stand some of our nollywood star when they start kissing or doing something like it. Hopefully it gets better.

For the Ladies Mercy Johnson is taking the crown right now - she makes her kissing or sex scenes very believable (not something africans are use to - but if you are going to be an actress you need to showcase and bite on ya teeth like OmoT and Chioma - If your marriage is standig in ya way then quit acting -We the audience want make believe and thats why we buy these tapes - we are not playing house in kindargarten school.), My Genny is very good too (i.e Darkest Nights with RMD, not overlly done, yet simple, reminds me Sanaa Lathan and her Love Scene in Love and Basketball) - and Ini Edo dont play at all either - shay you know our INI - will leave no stone unturned in her roles - Its all or nothing - i am surely going to miss her even though i just started liking her last year. I always wonder whether these ladies being unmarried contribute to their selflessness and ability to protray these scenes so well. Would it change if they got married?

For the men - yall know i gotta give to ma man Muna Obiekwe for his kissing, (love ya boo-boo, Samira dont say nothing ) and Jim Iyke - i swear, in his sex or rape scenes, i get so mad cos he makes it so believable like he is really raping the person (i.e Raping Genny in "Promise me forever" - i felt like throwing my shoe at him - i was like "Get off her - you idiot - get off her i forgot i was watching a movie for minute - THATS THE WHOLE POINT - believable scenes) - One of Jim Ikyes best sex scenes has to be the movie with Genny - whachmacallit - i forgot - he wanted to marry genny but his mom had this village girl in mind and this girl seduced him whilst he was drunk - come and see action- I was like chei? am i watching a naija movie or 9 1/2 weeks ) Though desmond is married - he aint bad either..Wifey musta given the green light.

Mercy Johnson really has the best sex scenes. I saw her in a movie with Saint Obi and the chemistry between them was too hot for Nollywood.

Greatest Sacrifice is the name. I saw it. Mercy just kills those scenes. She acts it like - Whatever i dont care, what yall say or think, I am going to act this scene to the T. She is good. She makes it believable, very believable - cos remember, there are hundreds of camera men all watching you shoot this scene so- if you act it right under all that pressure (like there is no one in the room but you and your acting partner) then you are damn good. She is very good at those scenes. Unlike some BORE STIFF ones i know. Relax jo, its a movie.

Oh yeah it will change when they get married. See Omot for example, you barely see her kiss let alone love scenes. Chioma was good but now she's married her love scenes are so boring to watch. You sense the withdrawal syndrome when male actor try to touch her. 'Make believe' is the watchword whether married or not but for my nollywood actresses marriage will always be a hindrance for them.

My boo(RMD) will forever be my man when it comes to love scenes. Those little things he does makes him the man to beat. Abeg Muna no know nothing o jare (Akos shot me later ). Saint Obi is also very good, the same goes to Jim Iyke.

Thank you-o, very much-oh. I agree with all you are saying... Once had this discussion on some other thread and pple thought there was something wrong my asking for properly done love scenes.

The make-believe is in making me believe that what I am watching is real. I aint no child...

If are talking about lovemaking scenes in Nollywood movies, then I have got to say that they come across as awkward and very unatural most of the lovemaking scenes that I have seen more sex scenes with an older man clawing at a younger woman and it just seems rushed and very wierd.

A love making scene in a Nollywood love story is quite rare. In fact not one comes to mind at present..... I think script writers or directors like to show the couple going out enjoying themselves with some cheesy music playing over their "discussions" to portray how they fall in love

In fact Nollywood has a long way to go when it comes to protraying love/love making scenes and I hope they take a few pointers from black american movies. The movie Disappearing Act with Sanaa Lathan and Wesley Snipes has one of the best lovemaking scenes ever..... It was in front of a refridgerator and it was some pretty steam stuff....

HUH????? Chioma was never good to begin with - she has alwasy been STIFF in a bore in such scenes - abeg call a spade a spade. We are talking about about love or kissing scene, name one movie where she relaxed in that scene. Are you kidding me.

The question that begs to asked is whether a movie has to have raunchy kissing/ sex before it can be a considered good watch?

Have we all now turned to sexual voyeurs who hunger and thirst for naked or semi naked bodies stimulating the sexual act all in the name of keeping it real? Common people.

Why are Nigerians always quick to copy the West all in the name of being enlightened?

This is why Bollywood will always be ahead of Nollywood. Even with their no-kissing ( at least for most films) , they've still been able to expand their audience. Bollywood movies are constantly screened in movie festival around the world and they've been pretty modest in their "love scenes".

Nollywood will do well to concentrate on more important things like writing better and original stories, improving the sound quality, using original soundtracks etc. There's more to movies than gratituos sex scenes

Rauchy sex scenes are indeed not essential to a movie however since Nollywood wants to portray this very natural human behaviour then I think they could definitely do much better
