Press Release - Teco Benson Prepares Explosion

Multiple award winner Teco Benson (Formidable Force, State Of Emergency, Broad day Light) just finished work on what he likes to refer to as his masterpiece: EXPLOSION (Now Or Never) an explosive action thriller that exposes the nefarious activities of 419 peddlers in Nigeria. The movie would be released under Teco Benson's new distribution company, TFP Global Distribution. Teco Benson says he has had the script for Explosive under wraps for a very longtime but had decided not to release it until he was able to get his distribution company together. The movie stars Kenneth Okonkwo, Chiege Alisigwe, Obi Okoli, Emeka Okoro, Charles Waren, Emeka Ani, Hakeem Rahman among several others. Explosion (Now Or Never) would revolve around Steve (Kenneth Okonkwo) a member of the Black Angels (A gang synonymous to 419) who gets involved in a mix up that enrages the American Embassy and leaves his trusted wife Angela (Chiege Alisigwe) stunned as shocking events begin to unfold. While the film was shot in a span of 4 weeks on location in Lagos and its environs, the project was done with some support from the American Embassy, going to show how much work Mr. Benson put to prepare the flick. It was shot with a Sony HD Camera and was directed by Teco Benson who says he hopes this film is able to put an end to the ugly trend of the 419 scam that has for many years battered the image of Nigeria and left a sour taste on the nation and honest Nigerians living/ traveling abroad for genuine business. While the movie should hit stores later APRIL / MAY 2006, a webpage would be available soon, including teasers and updates.

Something to look forward to,although Mr Teco Benson has hyped a number of his flicks before release often before, only for the homvies not to live up to expectation. We shall see how this one does.I am particularly curious on how the homvie will look like after being shot on the HDV format.
I like the cover design of the flick.

I used to rate Teco Benson very highly after watching movies like State Of Emergency, Broad Day Light and others. But I've been highly disappointed by his some of his other movies lie 6 Demons (a complete waste of time) and War Front 2 (another terrible movie).

Lets wait till we see this one, since they said he shot for 4 weeks and shot on a HDV format, looks like something that was well monitored and done but not until i see it would i say more, but the movie jacket looks impressive though.

Incidentally, Teco Benson did not produce/direct War Front II. That was done by Tarrilla Thompson, some guy like that wey dey tink say im na action movie producer/director. He it was that put together More Than a Woman (1 & 2) and Sensational Spy (1 & 2) and a few other works. I no know as dem take arrange am wey be say one person do part 1 of film, another person come do part 2.

I think the movie u are talking about is State of Emergency 2, part1 was directed by Teco and part 2 by Tarila...war front 1and 2 was done by Teco and i dont see what makes it as bad as Medden puts it, to me its one of the best action movie we have.

I stand corrected Wizard, got it mixed up and yes it was not as bad, I liked it too. Thanks for the correction.

I agree, my dear. I wish he could refund my money for 6 Demons

Point of correction, Teco Benson directed War Front1 and 2. The movies starred Stephanie Okereke.

I know Tarila Thompson and he didn't direct War Front 2.

Oh please, the continuity was poor and the absence of Sam Dede ultimately ruined the movie. Maybe you haven't seen "Six Demons". It's a terrible movie.
