Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) April 20, 2006 -- Native Lingua Films and Temple Productions are proud to announce the much anticipated world premiere of their Nollywood feature film "30 Days". The film will screen at the AFI Theaters in Silver Spring, Maryland on April 30, 2006 at 7:30 p.m, to a full house of enthusiastic Nollywood fans and VIP guests. The political and action thriller stars some of the most renowned actors in the Nigerian film industry including Genevieve Nnaji, Joke Silva, Segun Arinze, Gbenga Richards, Ebele Okaro and Nobert Young.
“We have chosen Maryland to premiere “30 Days” because of the numerous fans who live and support African Films in the tri-state areas of Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C.” states Mildred Okwo, Founder of Native Lingua Films and Writer/Director of “30 Days”.
“30 Days” is an action thriller, a political drama and love story rolled into one. Set in Nigeria, West Africa, the film is a story of political disruption and assassination of corrupt government officials. Someone is killing off corrupt government officials one after the other, and the president’s men and press scramble to uncover the truth behind the killings. The task of uncovering the mystery falls on the Minister of State, Dupe Ajayi (Joke Silva) and the Inspector of Police Shobowale (Segun Arinze). Meanwhile, Kene Alumona (CBA), a Nigerian man residing in New York for the past 15 years takes a 30-day trip home. Kene meets and falls for a seemingly quiet and pretty Chinora Onu
(Genevieve Nnaji). Kene’s vacation turns into a ride on the train of political intrigue, revenge, murder, lies and treachery.
Ego Boyo, CEO of Temple Productions, states that the quality of “30 Days” will stand out in the young history of the Nigerian film industry.
Genevieve Nnaji, Nigeria’s reigning screen starlet describes her role in “30 Days” as the “most demanding role to date”. To prepare for the role, Nnaji and some of her fellow cast members endured weeks of physical training, which is unusual in the industry. “It is not just the physical stuff; the love scenes are a bit racier than what I would normally play. That alone should get Nollywood fans talking”. Nnaji will attend the premiere event.
For Joke Silva, who recently produced Nigeria’s version of the popular stage play “The Vagina Monologues”, working on the set of “30 Days” “was wonderful. The attention paid to detail was quite refreshing especially on the technical side of the production”.
“Any artistic medium should gently ***** the conscience of its viewers regardless of the subject matter states L.A. based Writer/Director Mildred Okwo. “‘30 Days’ was born out of my frustration with the political and economic situation in Africa as a whole. It is disgraceful, that after 50 years of Independence, the continent still lags behind the rest of the world in every facet of life. However, the fact that I can make this film at this time is testament to the power of democracy.”

This is what you call a proper press release. I hope,it lands in the hands of the AP and the Washington Post.
