Why would you be calling it DVD when it is actually VCD,eh?
You think sey DVD and VCD dem be de same or dem be mates?
Any time you see naija movie recorded on 2 discs,then it is video CD and not DVD.
Recording on DVD does not require 2 discs,it only need just one.
If you buy a naija movie on discs for something like 5-10 dollars,then be certain that it is a VCD.
No naija producer will put a movie on DVD and sell it so cheap.
The only movie i have seen offered on DVD(Echoes of my heart),cost almost 20 dollars.
Technically DVD is far superior to VCD,you people are making a big error when you call VCDs DVD,they are not the same.
To give you just a slight hint of the quality of DVD,it is of superior image quality to the images you see on your TV screen when watching television broadcast.
Video CD quality does not come anywhere close to that.

Na you sabi o Vince. We get DVD player for UK and we dey play naija disc on it so call am wetin you like, na DVD we dey call am. If DVD player plays my disc, i will call it DVD. Se even though video cassette dey cost 280 naira for naija, no be video cassette we dey call am?

It is the machine that is multi-functional. It can play both VCD and DVD. The next time your UK marketers call it DVD, correct them. They know it isn't.

One more thing,just because a DVD player can play VCDs also does not make a DVD a VCD.THEY ARE FUNDERMENTALLY DIFFERENT EVEN IF THEY LOOK OPTICALLY SIMILAR.
