MULTI-TALENTED artiste Julius 'D Genius' Agwu has completed plans to hold his annual comedy show tagged Crack Ya Ribs, in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on November 12.
The event which promises to be explosive is being sponsored by Gordon Sparks, a brand in the stable of Guinness Nigeria Plc as well as Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Silverbird Group, DAAR Communications, owners of Ray Power FM and Africa Independent Television among others.
Aside the host, Julius Agwu, other artistes that would hold Abuja crowd hostage for over four hours on that day, are comedians, Abagana, Gandoki, Okey Bakassi, Jedi, petit rap act Weird MC, Abuja based Styl Plus and Ajegunle music idol African China who just returned from the UK after being acquitted of rape charges and others on the bill of performance.
Agwu also revealed that the event would be used to launch the VCD of his hit album My Style which contains the remix of the monster hit Sunita and peace advocacy song Gbaya Gbaya. The VCD of the maiden edition of Crack Ya Ribs that held in Abuja last year is ready and would be launched on the show day. "It is a bumper package and that is why nobody in Abuja should miss the show," the comedian who has also distinguished himself on the music and acting scene submitted.
Crack Ya Ribs would expose Julius Agwu's acting, comic and singing creativity. "It is a total show and I am happy that my sponsors have given me some backing," Agwu said even as he thanked the media that have been behind him from inception.
Mr. Emmanuel Agu, brand support manager Ready To Drink, a Gordon's Spark promotion said the brand decided to support the event because it is the kind of high profile shows Gordon's Spark is known with. "We have been involved in high profile international concerts involving world class artistes over a period of five years now, so we have decided to look inward and support indigenous stars like Julius Agwu. We believe in him (Agwu) and his ability to take the brand to a greater height. We hope this new marriage will work out fine," Agu said.
The international comic said he will strive to use the Crack Ya Ribs shows to sell Nigerian comedy to the world. He had a successful outing in London recently when he took the show to the United Kingdom.
