Creative Academii: Names of the twenty house mates

Names of the twenty house mates that moved into the Creative Academii in Calabar, Cross Rivers State on Sunday, November 12 have been made public. The reality television show designed to recognize, reward and export Nigerian creativity in the areas of fashion, photography, music and dance has a whooping African record prize of $120,000 at stake.

The show which enjoys the support of Mrs. Owanari Bob-Manuel Duke, Wife of Cross River State governor would be beamed to more than sixty million audience (and 40 million households) viewers in Africa, Europe and Asia. It will be aired by the Nigerian Television Authority, Silverbird Television and on Metro TV Ghana; in Europe, North and Southern Africa, the United States and Asia through OBE Television (on Sky Television channel 159).

The awareness drive was flagged off by Mr. Gabe Onah, Managing Director, Cross Rivers State Tourism Bureau (CRTB) in Calabar on Monday July 24th, at the Bureau’s premises in a colourful ceremony. Creative Academii, which kick-start activities for the 2006 Cross River State International Christmas Festival, is aimed at the discovery and building on abilities inherent in the twenty Nigerians between the ages 18-35.

Apart from CRTB, others leading brands behind the reality television show with an all-Nigerian technical crew are First Bank Nigeria Plc, Chery Motors Nigeria, Goldmyne Entertainment, Planet One Entertainment and a host of others. The wholly Nigeria grown show organised by Inspire Media Production Company in conjunction with Eco Travels and Tours Limited, Lagos has been endorsed by National Broadcast Commission. The letter dated June 29, 2006, was signed by M.A Atoyebi, HOD, Monitoring. Here is a brief bio-data of the twenty contestants who made the final lists in their different categories.

Fashion:

Mgboke Chibueze Pierce, 26, Imo State; Ebo LoisJ Obinuju, female , 25, Anambra State, Enema Okon Victor, male, 24, Cross River;Amos-Tafiri Michelle Ejiroghenem female 23, Delta State; and J-Adewale Omolade Adetoyosi, female, 22, Ogun State.

Dance category:
Olatokun Emmanuel Oluwafemi, male, 24 from Oyo State ; Richard Ene Uduak, female, 21, Akwa Ibom State ; Otomewo Mebru Stephen, male, 21, Delta State ; Olowoyo Korede, female, 21, Ondo State; and Shehu Senkay Shadrach, male, 24, Kaduna State .

Photography:
Okon Akbabio Uduak, male, 22, Akwa Ibom; Adewuyi Adebowale Olufemi, 21, Kwara State; Azurunwa Elija Chimela, male, 27 from Abia State; Jolaade A. Kehinde Titofemale, 21, Ogun State; and David –– Nyiam Oyang Desiree, female, 18, Cross River State.

The selection was meticulously carried out by a panel of judges made up of eminent Nigerian professionals. The unveiling of the 20 has been scheduled for Saturday, a day before they move into the exotic house in Calabar in a colourful ceremony

Cross River hosts Reality Show

Twenty housemates have been selected to participate in a reality television show, Creative Academy in Calabar, Cross Rivers State. The reality television show, which started last Sunday, November 12, is designed to recognize, reward and export Nigerian creativity in the areas of fashion, photography, music and dance. The reality television show also has a whooping African record prize of $120,000 at stake.

The show, which has the support of Mrs. Owanari Bob-Manuel Duke, Wife of Cross River State governor would be watched by over a 100 million audience and household will be viewers in Africa, Europe and Asia.

The selection which was meticulously carried out by a panel of judges made up of eminent Nigerian professionals was concluded on Tuesday, November 7, 2006. They were saddled with the responsibility of sifting the mammoth entries at the Planet One, Maryland , Ikeja - Lagos . The audition process which was billed to start from September 11, 2006 had to be moved forward due to popular demand. The unveiling of the 20 was done a day before they moved into the exotic house in Calabar in a colourful ceremony.
