Jeta Amata's manager Tosin Ajayi told Glitterati Movies and Reviews that their film Amazing Grace is ready to cart away nine awards from the forth coming African Movie Award Academy (AMAA).
She is optimistic that the movie which has been nominated for nine different categories will not miss any due to the fact that the film received a standing ovation at the Berlin Film Festival which took place in Germany in 2006. It also received accolades from the just concluded Pan African Film Festival which took place in Los Angeles last month where the cream of actors in Nollywood were in attendance, including Danny Glover, Oscar best actress Florence Whitaker. She however noted that negotiations are in progress for the French government to sponsor a French interpretation of the movie and will be distributed in all francophone countries.
Apart from this, Ajayi said, if there is any Nigerian film that has been acknowledge in Hollywood, both for its storyline, production and directing, it is Amazing Grace. Amazing Grace has been nominated for the best supporting actor, best picture, best Nigerian film, best cinematography, achievement in costume, best visual effect, best sound achievement in make-up, and the best director.
Jeta Moving Up the Mountains of Grace Amazing Grace has also opened doors for Jeta, as he is about signing on for another $2m film budget deal with some Hollywood investors, including other opportunities to work as a director with the United Talent Agency, one of Hollywood biggest agencies.

The Man Jeta Amata
Jeta comes from a family of movie makers. His late grandfather, John Amata, was a veteran actor. John acted in Freedom, the largest motion picture in the colonial era. Jeta's father, Zack is well known for his role as Mr. Okonzua, Nosa's father in Behind the Clouds, one of the soap that graced the television stations of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in the seventies.
His journey into the movie world started years back, while as a student at the Benue State University, where he stumbled on a casting session for a stage production, he was given a script to read. After delivering a few lines, he got a role. Jeta has been in the industry since 1995, with over twenty films to his credit. At 32, he does not believe that he is one of the youngest producers, as there are producers younger than him.
He once told Glitterati that his journey at the initial stage was rough as most marketers did not believe in his work. His first film was Glamour Boys, followed by No More Food for the Gods and Alien Attack amongst others " Apart. from Glamour Boys, the other two were so unsuccessful in the market, I made zero kobo" he said.Today Jeta is a happy man because he can now foot the bills of renowned international actors and his co-producers.
AMAA's Slip of Pen
There were some discrepancies in the list of Nominee we published lastweek, as some titles were not included in the list forwarded to some stakeholders. Mbong Odungide's name was not included in the list of nominees sent to some producers and directors. In his response the media director of AMAA, Orji Onoko said the list published in Glitterati last week should be regarded as the authentic list, as this will be re-forwarded to all stakeholders once again
