A total of 150 budding musi-cians have passed the first hurdle of making it to fame and fortune in this year’s Star Quest. This number emerged from the screening completed last weekend in six zones of the federation.
This number was picked from 5000 applicants who entered for this year’s edition of the music talent hunt.
Thirty-six young music talents are expected to emerge next week to journey into Star fame land and form six bands expected to vie for fame and fortune from March 30th.
According to Sampson Oloche, Star Brand Manager-Events and Sponsorships, “The winner of the 2007 edition of Star Quest will emerge on April 28, 2007 during the grand finale of the event which will be beamed live on national television.”
The talent show made its debut in 2002 and made a return in 2006.
The first edition in 2002 was won by the KC Presh, while D’accord won the second edition in 2006. The winners of this year’s edition will go home with mouth-watering prizes, according to the organisers.
