My opinion about Rita Dominic: Maybe when she was in uni.... she took a lot of sun. But as soon as she graduated she refound her natural colour.

Just like me: I have always been light-skinned but when I was 14 I became really dark. This is because I used to go to pools. All I had to do was stay indoor during summer and my colour came back. Even today I am still darker than my natural colour.

There is this cousin of mine: her father is very dark while her mother is yellow paw-paw. When she wa newly born she was dark as well, but now as she is growing up, her skin is becoming lighter.

Maybe this is also Rita Dominic's case.

One thing wey dey bother me: why was she the only fanta among cokes in Girls Cot? Maybe the casting crew knew she was dark before and decided to reconcile her with her natural looks. I just dey ask o.

Rita Domnic is cast for her suitability and great acting capabilities, plus star quality, I seriously doubt her complexion has anything to do with it.That applies to Girls Cot and most other films she's acted.

I have never doubted that. I am just asking why she be the only fanta for inside. She could be easily noticed in the bunch! I nor want

Back to the topic, is she was really dark as people claim then kudos to her for being able to get so light without side-effects.

Why then are you asking why she be the only fanta insaid nah? since you agree she was casted for the reasons I mentioned above?Or do they need to colour-match all the actors when casting for roles in any given flick?

On the Rita DOmnic being dark before before, I dont believe it for a second, she must be naturally fair skinned, even if she has touched up, her complexion is too even to be pure bleaching from dark to fair, and like you said you would expect to see the side effects clearly

I cannot believe that Rita Dominic bleached herself....it is quite obvious when one is bleaching but to be toned well (color wise) from head to toe like Rita is, makes it look real and different...this makes me think that she might be light skinned after all...dunno now.

With all due respect Mich, I knew Rita in UniPort and I also know when she began to lighten her skin. (Just as she got into the movie industry) I agree about people's complexion changing with age, weather and time. I myself 'tan' very easily; since I've been living in the UK and not getting as much sun as when in Naija, my complexion is far lighter than it was from the constant Naija sun.

I also know people that their skin 'takes' to bleaching more than others especially if they have 'fair' genes in their family. I know a friend whose parents and siblings are as fair as MonaLisa; she's the only dark-skinned one. She started lightening her skin with Visible Difference + Baby lotion and over a period of time succeeded in looking like the rest of her family. Does that didn't know her before could never be convinced that 'she dey rub cream' but she knew, I knew and her siblings knew.

Visible Difference? You mean Elizabeth Arden's Visible Difference? That's what I use and I haven't noticed any changes to my colour whatsoever.

You know sey we dey agree on most things KikisM, mana Rita di bu oji! and this is the honest truth. She was NEVER light-skinned; she bleached; herself and her bosom friend Thelma Okoduwa; they were black beauties in school before they came to Lagos to get into the industry and consequently lightened up!!!

It may appear not to have side effects but bear in mind that not every skin will show side effects ( at least not just yet) But to my eye, she has this washed-out look, compared to naturally fair actresses like ... Oh God, I can't think of any

Anyway, it doesn't take away from her natural talent; guess that's why we don't notice it or want to believe it but sadly, it is true

Sorry KikisM
