Tade Ogidan's Diamond Ring

I know a lot of allusions have been made to this movie all over the place, but I could not actually find a thread on it. So, I just had to open one. Its old and it is FANTASTIC!!!!

It is very unfair and uncalled for that when they mention producers, writers and directors in Nollywood, all the others are mentioned in the same breath as Tade Ogidan. There is absolutely no basis for comparison.

The movie was not perfect of course. The special effects were very laughable, and the shooting scenes could be more convincing. But the complexity of the story, the detailing in the scenes, the acting. I was spellbound. I am used to watching Nollywood movies (even the so called good ones) in front of my computer, doing something else, only lifting up my head when something interesting happens. This one ehn, I was on the edge of my seat throughout. It is very, very, very unfortunate that the Naija system does not encourage the Tade Ogidans of this world to continue to produce quality. He should make at least a movie every year. I as a consumer want to say that I appreciate his talent and I am a die hard fan.

Uncle Tade, abeg now, make more movies. You are a genius.

What was the movie about? Go find it and watch ojare. I am still in awe of uncle Tade right about now.

Maybe I will give a synopsis later.

@the highlighted: The movie was his third movie therefore I can understand that. He is the second best director in Nigerian movie industry. Diamond Ring 1 is a nice movie, but lost the vibe in Diamond Ring 2!

Stop stalking me madam! Ya know, i watched this flick just last weekend too and like you have pointed out, though, it had its flaws-it was so good to see an oldie with such quality and depth!

I've always said it-Uncle Tade is in a world of his own......honestly! Master story teller he is!
Part 1 was better though and it was sweet to see Teju babyface,Bimbo Akintola,Sola Shobs,Mama Ajayi, Lanre Balogs, Funsho Adeolu and RMD looking so young and vulnerable, yet on top of their games! Now, that was a good flick!

I likey!

Watched it years ago and still one of my all time favourite Nollywood movies.
And yes, there's a thread on this movie.
Brilliant movie and RMD at his best.

Kolinzo knows I'm joking. Besides, he's called me "the king of opaks" countless times in the past. He even says it on another forum. We're cool.

But eh, dis ya olofofo business, na war o.

Dude, is that you and your madam on your avatar

But seriously that title belongs to Ohenhen. Even I'm surprised by the level of his opaks yanning.
