Wat about Kingsley Ogoro....isn't he a producer/director in movie industry, and I thought he was the one that produced or directed the movie, "Battle of Love"...............

Also, what is the difference between the jobs of the producers and directors in these movies.......pls I want to have an idea.......

I think a producer takes care of the finances, the budget of the movie. He employes the director and makes sure that everything moves within the budget range during production.
The director takes care of the production itself, that is the shooting of the movie. His job is to shoot as much material as possible(coverage) to give the editor enough room to be creative in the postproduction studio.
You can say that he is the choreographer in chief.Everything you see in a movie is preplanned by him/her,every movement of the actor/actress is controlled by his previsualization(blocking it is called)
When you watch a movie, you're seeing his vision, you're seeing exactly what he wants you to see.
So you can say that the director takes care of the artistic side of the production. That is why they also call them "filmmakers".You see on hollywood posters their name on top of the film title,e.g.RIDLEY SCOTT'S HANNIBAL.That says that Mr Scott was the director.
In the telling of a story in the visual form,three different kinds people are involved;
1)The scriptwriter(in the preproduction stage)
2)The director(in the production stage)
3)The editor(in the postproduction stage)
A director is also required to be involved in all the stages of production of a movie to make sure that things stay true and loyal to his vision.

@Vince............it shows that the director does most of the job in the movies we watch...........I hope they get paid well for their efforts.........Also, is Kingsely Ogoro one of the producer/director in the movie industry, and was he the one that produced/directed the movie, "Battle of Love".............

Kingsley Ogoro produced Battle of Love. Simi Opeoluwa directed it. The producer writes the check, so he can fire the director anytime. And no, the director does not do most of the job. He does his share. A lot of important people also work with him that you never notice.

You could say that he has the lion share of the artistic part of things.
He has to be involved in every stage directly or indirectly from the production stage to the final delivery unto the mastertape/s.
But other people do contribute too.
The directors do a lot of work on movies alright, and that is why they get oscar awards and producers don't.
Directors can also write, produce and direct their own movies too if he/she is up to it..We have a lot of those in naija scene.
There is this guy in hollywood called Robert Rodriguez who directed movies like ,Desperadoes,Once upon a time in Mexico, spy kids. They call him "rebel without a crew",and this is because he does almost everything all by himself in the production of his movies.
He writes/produces/directs/DPs/edits/and even does the camera operation of his movies.
That is a huge huge workload and not many people does it,but it saves money.

@Vince: Actually, producers get best picture. Directors receive directorial Oscars.
Rodriguez calls himself that, I think. It is the title of his book.

I cant believe you forgot THE OMIDINAS!!!!!! They're big Yoruba movie producers too, and there's that really annoying mofo, whats his name now, the BAYOWA FILMS PRODUCTION dude.

I dont know, I feel when directors and producers are "Awarded" they should call up their crew, I mean without a good crew you're fucked. Its like every other business in the world, everyone forget the little people that make the big people look perfect. I'm talking the ones that pull the wires, do the make ups, get the sets ready, without them, we might as well be watching the sky!!!!!!!!!!

My first directoral award goes out to all the little people that are oppressed by the big people. We are all people too.

Thank you, thank you, no need to thank me, thank them

I guess you can add Chico Ejiro if you can stand his movies.
Some of his works are actually ok.Eg. Dream Lover was not all that bad.
