Alright Ya'll, This is a Serious Subject and Ridiculous at the same time.

I think the numbers of Nigerian Movies that are being produced in a Year is way way too much?

Forget a Year, In a week even. The directors seriously needs to reduce the numbers of movies that are being produced in a year. they need quality control, instead of making all this thousand movies in year, they can reduce it and spend more time with one so it can be better in quality.

i still have a lot to add to this subject but will wait and hear you guys perspective first.

and moderator, make sure that this subject is reported to nigerian movies directors all over

First, post in the right forum. The section you placed this is about the stars. This topic is about movies. I will move it.

Second, make your titles shorter. They read better, believe me. Pls oblige me. I'm a pain, yeah

Finally, there really is no realistic way to control this. You SHOULD NOT stop people from producing. That is how they learn, by making mistakes and growing. Let them produce the good and bad movies.

What we need is the educated consumer - and he us getting educated already because he has seen trash and he has seen quality and he is learning to be discerning. Forums like this alos help make an educated consumer. Once we all know the minimum qualities a movie should have, we will all start rejecting the crappy stuff. The money in our pocket will speak for us. When we make the bad producers go bankrupt, they will learn to make better movies. They will want to do good jobs so that they can also walk in the committee of people with movies that are accepted and selling.

Educate the consumer, and the movie-maker will tag along. Simple problem, simple solution.

Ok cool, reasonable answer.. thanks for your reply. each time i watch movie, i always feel like they need more editing cuz of the noises in the background or some actors and actress reactions and body language which you can tell are not suppose to be part of the scripts. i am glad they are making effort toward improving those aspect though. good

You see, the more you see, the more you know. And you have become discerning. We need more viewers who will question what they watch. If they discard the junk, some people will stop making them because there is no market to fool anymore.

Growing pains
Quantity rules at the moment over quality and that is mainly because of financial reasons.
It takes a lot of money and time to make quality and that is not all that available at the moment.
A procucer takes 20 million naira and shares it among 10 productions.
Now his calculation is that if he can make 2 mill profit(!) from each movie, that will amount to 20 mill profit to his total investment!
Ofcourse,if quality reigned, the producer would have spread that amount on 2 productions only.
The marketing is still primitive and not organized well enough for producers to make a lot more profit than the are doing right now,so they are thinking very small at the momen
Na so dem dey think. So what do you expect.
Someone else can add to this!

I agree totally with vince. The industry is still growing to think now of making profit in qualities save quantities. In fact it is still a part of our lives here in Nigeria. consider a man instead of eating a good meal that will cost him N500 he will prefare using that N500 for five days in buying a cups of garri and groundnuts for soakies, very bad mentality that has to change.
BUt soon I believe everything will change cos there time for everything, a time for quantity and a time for quality.
what do ya say vince!

The viewers are becoming aware of quality, but we can't fully blame these half baked producers.Na Idumota and Upper Iweka road dey determine wetin dem go do.as for quality, some films sell before they are officially released 'cos most viewers are eagerly waiting for them,e.g Mainframe and Amaka Igwe's Productions.
