Have you all noticed how in all these christian movies they always go after our culture and tradition and villify it(i hope i used the right word there).
It is always christianity against our culture with our culture always being the villain.
Now i'm a christian,but i still find it disturbing that christian movies equate our culture to everything evil.
Is there nothing good about our culture and tradition?
The thing is disturbing to me,because let's face it,christianity is a foreign religion and way of life.
I always feel real good when i'm watching a naija movie that depicts our culture and tradition in a good light.
All these christian movies are slowly beginning to get on my nerves with their unfortunate habit of painting what is cultural evil and anti God.

It's the wave my brother.na so things be for Naija.The Executive Producers dictate the pace.In Yoruba films for example,Islam is been glorified nowadays.English home videos wey Christain brother sponsor,Cristainity is it but i think KOTO AYE doesn't glorify any of the religions.I'm not saying all films tilt towards religion o,abeg don't get me wrong.
There are also times when a scripwriter uses it an an escape route when he can't think of a better way to end his story.using religion as a means to an end.

Well i just think that they should go easy on our culture o,because that is our identity.
We get am before oyinbo come and we are stuck with it.
There are a lot of beautiful things about our culture and not so so bad things as dem dey depict for movies.
Thank God for peeps like Tunde Kelani who continues to represent positively with excellent depictions of our culture and tradition.

since you're a scriptwriter,u could write a cultural script.a typical village setting,not the one wey people go dey use sacks as costumes.It could be set in a village.If it sells,others go start to do same,you know our follow follow tradition now.

But on the real, people go for ways they trust you dig, and if you start praising cultural ways, people could start to think one if fetish. But sha my own "piece" will be very different.
