"The Boys Next Door" is a remake of Tade's Play of The Week on NTA 10 in the early 80s. Back then, it starred a young Segun Arinze, Albert Odulate, Mike Odiachi and a couple of friends whose names escape me now. It also introduced Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey to acting.
Concept is fantastic, as any writer would quickly tell you. 4 young boys having fun. 3 out of the 4 convince the 4th one to let them go rob his parents' house (in masks) one night. So they arrive wielding toy weapons, scaring the parents, while the son tries to keep his voice out and his friends controlled so they don't mistakenly hurt his parents.
Unfortunately, real armed robbers with real guns also planning to rob the area arrive to meet them at the house during the fake raid...
It will feature new twists.

I must tell you, its been a long time since i heard or read a synopsis for a nigeria movie and smiled. I'm actually smiling about this one. It should be good. This is the kind of story Nollywood should do. Some twists that will make you say Haha!!

In the original, everything happened in one long night. Don't want to give out more details. It is a fine concept.

Sola, "FINE" is an understatement considering the direction that nollywood is heading now. I mean only a hand full of Nollywood movies comes out compelling nowaday. I completely understand that there is no new idea under this earth, but the least we can do is be a little creative and interesting with the stories.
What do you think?

this is a good thing tade ogidan is doing, doing remake of earlier tv series like madam dearest instead of doing same ol' boring storylines thats common in nollywood
