WINNER of the 2008 edition of the Amstel Malta Box Office (AMBO) The premiere of the Amstel Malta Box Office (AMBO) Television Reality Show, Wole Ojo, will star in a new movie entitled, The Child, scheduled to premiere on Friday.


The Child features Ojo alongside such top Nollywood star actors as Joke Sylva, Alex Osifo and Bukky Ajayi and others.
Its screening for the media, Nollywood celebrities and crème de la cream of the society is scheduled to hold in Agip Hall, MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

AMBO is a yearly talent hunt show sponsored by Amstel Malta brand of the Nigerian Breweries. Launched in 2005, the AMBO reality show consists of three main elements which run sequentially, beginning with a young movie talent hunt reality TV show. The winner is thereafter made to play the lead role in a mainstream Nollywood movie and, finally, a road show that provides viewing experience of the movie for the public across the country.

The Child comes after such past AMBO films as Sitanda, Whitewaters and Cindy’s Notes. Some of the films that came from the AMBO exercise have won awards both locally and internationally. While some young artistes who passed through the project has grown to become competent practitioners in the entertainment field, especially, film acting. The contest “utilises the expertise of Nollywood professionals, actors/actresses, directors, producers and scriptwriters while infusing the freshness of the newly discovered young star to arrive at excellent works of art and share them with its esteemed consumers,” organisers explain.

Winners of AMBO TV Reality Show so far include, Sadiq Azizat, O.C. Ukeje, Bhaira Mcwizu, Wole Ojo and Ivie Okujaiye who won the contest in 2009. “The AMBO 5 movie is expected to feature Ivie Okujaiye will be premiered later in the year,” informs promoters of the show.
