    Joel Osteen Transcripts

This are transcripts i listen to whilst at work and i tell you - it gets me through the day. I absolutely love Joel Osteen, i like his sermon so much i plan on visiting Houston some time this year, just to visit his church. He is a great teacher, and i learn a lot from his sermons.

I also like listening to Creflo Dollar - but Joel is my favourite. Some of the other pastors on the tbn christian chanell are a bit too loud and dramatic for my liking, but Joel and Creflo are my best.

ps:i admire ppl who are pray (if we are in a group and u tell me to lead a prayer, i get so nervous cos i dont feel my is good enough). sometimes i look at ppl like juanita bynum or paula white and i am like gosh i wish i could pray like them. I am still trying hard to be a good strong prayer, i like "reading" my prayers to much - i want to confidently stand on my feet and pray like i see some ppl do, for 30 40 mins straight . Its like the words just flow like that. I am taking baby steps but i will get there.

How do you "listen" to transcripts?

I think Osten preaches the most watered down sermons in the world. He's so soft and sweet and "lovey-dovey" me, it reeks. And every single message is the same. Just change the title. He's so boring...

    What's there to love Akos?

Eddie long - that small tight shirt he wears cant make me concentrate so i usually change channels. I also like pastor Matthew Ashimowolo of London KICC.

i like him but his not my main .. give me John hagee , joyce and Paula any time you will feed my day . However , every pastor has a congregation they are called to and I don't doubt him . I do watch his sermon and i follow to profess those words spoken before the main sermon

I am very interested to call in but i dont know the number.
Go to their web site and get their contact number am sure you will find a prayer line there..... you can call to get the information

as for the prayer you take it step by step , no one start praying 30 or 1 hr at a stretch.... first of all .... set out a convenient time to be praying every day, then you start by singing praise and worship songs afterwards you confess your sin and then invite the holy spirit to intercede and take control of your prayer and finally you go into the main prayer....keep doing it every day with time the holy spirit will broaden your mind and lead you into other things to pray about ... It's a gradual thing even if you pray for 10 or 20 minutes later your staying power will grow... be relax and do it at your pace

The most important thing is to form praying as a habit and before you know it 1 or 2 hours would be nothing to you .....

Joel's sermons are monotonous o jare. It's as though he has to be politically correct by gently rubbing your head, and telling you what you love to hear. He needs to preach some hard core messages before sin starts flowing in abundance in his congregation. Drug addicts, fornicators and so on will be under his umbrella telling him they are struggling with "issues". 2 years later, they are still struggling with "issues" and multiplying in the congregation. I know that Jesus calls us all to himself and no one is righteous (including me). However, some hell-fire messages need to be preached to shake people up! We can not be baby christians forever! I keep praying for Joel so that no big scandal hits his congregation. You know how horrible the media can be.

"Jesus asked him, saying, “What is your name?” And he said, “Legion,” because many demons had entered him".

True, he's got a good sense of humor though. One major reason that I tune in live is to listen to their choir/band. After the songs I may or may not listen to preaching.

Cool Ill do that some day !!
The same people that called us idol worshippers b'cos we practice stuffs like - masquarade (sp), earth and tree worship etc are today doing exactly those same things. We now have earth day in the US, tree huggers, animal worshippers, if you go to Disneyland you'd find masquarades in all shapes and sizes~ His Majesty

It's fun to play and sing along with Israel, Cindy, and The Anointed. It was a deadly combo at last week's services.

I like Joel Osteen. He gives you something to think about but any therapist can do that. One sermon that you will never hear him teach is "The soul that sinneth it shall die" or "The wages of sin is death". I don't think he wants to touch those subjects. You will never hear him preach about homosexuality and all that. He plays it safe. Maybe that's what his calling is. Maybe he was called just to encourage people. Who knows?

A message without the two highlighted subjects is DEAD, mere motivational or 'feel good' messages (imho).
