Free for all discussion.......just lay your points or raise an issue.

I have some issues to raise:
* How does one know men of God that are actually called by God to serve in HIS Kingdom from those that "called themselves" to enrich themselves? Because a friend told me that a pastor she knows only started a church because he lost his job and life became too hard for him and his family....and she has seen them planning the church as a 'business' not a ministry! So, she cut off from the whole family!

* What's with the latest trend in Nigeria where everyone and anyone is becoming a pastor and raising up churches and becoming rich fast fast!? because that is making it very hard for me to even try to convince some of my friends, especially in Nigeria to start attending church in their neighborhoods! They say churches are businesses in Naija! Why?

* Why do Reverend Fathers, pastors, Bishops hold no other job from time to time?

* Why do spouses of Pastors become Pastors as well? Are they always all "called" to the pulpit too? Given the recent rise in divorces amongst ministers etc........

All I have to say is that I hate how people believe in God so confidently as if they saw him in person

Personally, I think you should let the spirit of God guide you. I have been in a church where my conscience is bothered, and I know that church is not for me. I have been at a church that I feel so free, and that is where I worship.

No one should be forced into church. It should come natural. I believe that God looks at our hearts too. I have a friend that is in church everyday, but she can curse the crap out of you and hold malice.

All the same, I believe that many of the nowadays pastors are using church a as business. You began to see them fall one by one. Those who are real will stand to the end.

I feel you. My concern is, how do you convince people that DONT got to church anymore to start attending church? They cite examples of money-fleecing churches and pastors etc......

Sifu, It gets annoying when some people go to the extent of doing things like sacrificing people or letting religion get into every aspect of their life because of this so-called "God" that they've never seen but rather heard and read in books Called "Bible" (shaking my head). Don't get me wrong. I'm not athiest. I'm just not going to go around claiming that theres something I have never seen existing. I'd rather stay neutral throughout my life and not claim or force myself to believe in something.

A man once saw an empty house and moved in...... When told that the owner might come someday, he replied, "There is no owner"........ Since he met the house empty and didn’t SEE any owner, he believes nobody owns or built it. The house just came out of thing air... By the way why should he believe in the owner that he has never seen?
A wise man advised that since there is a house, it’s only fair to assume somebody owns/built it and its better the man seeks for the owner and find out what the conditions are for living in the house... Our man replied, as long as he is concerned, there is no owner because he has lived in the house for over 30yrs and has not SEEN anybody
When the owner eventually shows up, what will happen? Especially for the man who denied his existence while living on his property.... Is his property not enough proof that he exist?

living there for 30yrs? & the man owner still came back after 30 yrs? This story sounds extremely fabricated.

If its true though, then I think what you are trying to tell me is that the work God created (which are humans, earth, animals etc.) is enough proof that he exist? I'm still sceptical because there are alot of explanations of how we started and God is not the only one

The Bang Theory? Which has been flawed and even the scientists are getting confused themselves.

One question tho, since there is an explaination for everything on earth, how come man can create almost anything now, but have not been able to create life!? Especially, life after death? How come man has not been able to raise dead people?.........

nah, I mean since everything on earth is being explained one way or the other, I just wonder why the awesome hi-tech knowledge we have has not made life? Or even reversed the end of life [death] back to life? Seeing they are so consumed with Recycling.. {Recycling Life}
