A good thing you brought this point up.

No, Yahweh was not saying other races are inferior! Keep in mind that Esau and Jacob (the father of the Jewish race) were born by Isaac. The birth of Isaac was a miracle wrought by God, hence he represents the power of RESSURECTION/CHRIST.
We should focus on Isaac, Esau and Jacob, to understand why God did not want the Jewish race to mingle with other races.
Isaac was a product of Resurrection and so, he was a type of Christ!
Out of Isaac came Esau and Jacob (Out of Christ came two brand of Christians)
Esau and Jacob had the same beginning in that both were carnal, sold under sin.
But later, Jacob was dealt with by God. So, Jacob represents the TRANSFORMING work of the Holy Spirit (God had future believers in mind).
A believer may start his/her Christian journey as a carnal person, s/he is expected to be transformed to the image and likeness of Christ from glory to glory.
Esau ended his life as an ordinary person. He wept sorely because he lost his inheritance. The five foolish virgins also wept and did not reign with Christ. (Matthew 25: 1-13)
In conclusion, the JEWISH who were descendants of JACOB (transforming work of the Holy Spirit) were barred from mingling with other races, not because they were superior, but because God wanted to identify Himself as the God of Jacob. Each of the sons of Jacob represents the spiritual condition of their father whilst in exile. Until Christ is revealed in a believer, it's dangerous for him/her to mingle with the world.
Did God strike any of the JEWISH who married from another race? No!
