I'm sorry this took so long to write, I have no excuse, so here goes:

"Listen for God's voice....He's the one who will keep you on track" Proverbs 3:6

Short-cuts:

Are you tired of waiting for God? Are you tempted to get behind the wheel and take over? Before you do remember this: a short-cut can short-circuit your destiny! It happens on God's timetable, not yours.

After Samuel anointed David to be king, he had to stand back and wait for 7 long years while Samuel jeopardized Israel's future and forced him into hiding. Then one of those "short-cuts" showed up. One of David's soldiers discovered Saul defenseless and asleep in his tent, so he came to David and told him, "God has delivered your enemy into your hand.....Let me strike him."

What an opportunity! Get rid of the man who wants to kill you. Come out of hiding and claim your throne. After all, you're already anointed to be king! It all made sense except for one thing- it wasn't part of God's plan. As much as David wanted to rule Israel he knew that to succeed he must do it God's way, according to God's timetable, or else it wouldn't have been God's blessing and approval.

When Abishai offered to kill Saul he had only David's welfare at heart. That's sobering! Well-meaning friends can give you advice that's contrary to God's plan. That's when it's hard not to go along with it, or to defend your decision by rationalizing that the end justifies the means. Never let anyone, however well-intentioned, persuade you to do what you know is wrong. Instead, "Listen for God's voice....He's the one who will keep you on track."

And another one:

Live by your values:

Your life is a direct result of the values that have fashioned it. And those values are critical, because they function as:

(1) Your anchor: Without values you're adrift. Any storm can take you under, any current can carry you places you don't want to go. But with Godly values, you've an anchor that holds you steady, even when the weather gets nasty.

(2) Your faithful friend: Your core values are your life-long companions. Abraham Lincoln said, "When I lay down the reins of this administration I want to have one friend left, and that friend is inside myself."

(3) Your compass: Seasons change. Relationships change. Circumstances change. Goals change. But values don't! Like a compass, they always point towards the magnetic north. Is living this way easy? No! Doubters will discount you as foolish when you "walk by faith". People without family values won't understand your devotion to your family. The carnally minded won't understand your dedication to Christ. Those whose values are different from yours will try to convince you to follow them or lower your standards. Your values will be tested daily!

Speaking about the mid-life crisis that many people experience between the ages of 35-50, Dr. James Dobson says, "I believe mid-life crisis is more of a phenomenon of the wrong value system, than the age of the group in which it occurs. All of a sudden you realize that the ladder you've been climbing is leaning against the wrong wall." Centering your life around Christ will keep that from happening to you!

Okay guys, I was reading the message I was supposed to read yesterday today right, and this topic is something else. I felt like the message was talking to me, for real since sunday, every message that I hear whether in church, on TV adn now in the book has something to do with my spiritual life. God please help me overcome myself and my selfishness and focus more on you. Amen. So here goes the message:

"Diotrephes.......loves.....the preeminence." 3 John 9 NKJV

Examining your motives (1):

One pastor writes: "Years ago I wanted to lead a certain ministry. When I wasn't chosen I became angry. Of course I didn't show it. That's not to say that I didn't love God. I just wanted to serve me more than Him! By saying no, God was correcting a destructive attitude that would destroy any real ministry I might have later. When you represent God so visibly, it's nearly impossible for anyone to detect you're a fake....except God."

Many of us suffer from "approval addiction." The symptoms are: living in bondage to what others think of us; getting easily hurt by what they say; a nagging sense that we aren't good enough; trying to impress important people. And like all addicts we'll go to any lenghts to get a "fix."

Henri Nouwen writes, "Many of my daily preocupations suggest that I belong more to the world [than to God]. A little criticism makes me angry.....a little praise raises my spirits.....often I am like a small boat on the ocean, completely at the mercy of the waves."

Paul writes, "But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you......it is the Lord who judges me" (1Co 4:3-4 NRSV). Imagine recieving criticism as "a very small thing." Imagine being liberated from the need to impress, our self esteem no longer resting on someone else noticing how smart or how attractive we are. Imagine being able to actually feel love toward someone who expresses disaproval of us. It's not only possible, with God's help and a lot of hard work- it's attainable!

I hope this has blessed you as much as it has blessed me, I have to change my life around, I felt so guilty after reading this, and I know God wants to make a positive change in my life, and in your life too!

I'll come back with the 2nd part, but gotta go now, I'm in school ya know.

Arrow Stay Connected To Your Source!

I hope this blesses someone today,it blessed me Its from my daily devotional but i have paraphrased it a bit for simplicity.

Okay,

As the Babylonians(a certain group of pple in the Bible) encircled Jerusalem, the question they asked was"HOW LONG CAN YOU HOLD OUT?"

The wicked king,Nebuchadnezzar had cut off Jerusalem's food and other essential supplies. So how long could they survive?
A month passed, then wo,then an entire year, still they held out.

The secret of the city's survival lay in a hidden water supply which came from a spring outside the city walls.King Hezekiah had cut a 1777 foot tunnel thru solid rock. From there, water passed under the city walls to a reservoir inside.

Without it,those people,Gods pple, would have gone down in defeat.

The lesson to learni is this:

To live victoriously,you must:
1)be able to identify your life's TRUE SOURCE
2)Draw daily from it
3)Protect it

If ur security,ur strength,ur self-worth or even ur strategy for living come from any source other than God,you're vulnerable

Everything you need comes from God,so protect that relationship(if you have one)....if you dont, theres always an opportunity for you to start one today,NOW!
Nurture ur relationship with God,for it will always be the focal point of satan's attack.

A day without God's word isnt a slip, its a set up for failure

Prayerlessness isnt carelessness, its craziness or arrogance

"Well",you say,"Im doing okay and i dont pray much"....Maybe you havent reached your hour of testing yet. When it comes, and it will, what will you draw on?Answer this:

If you can do it without God,is it even of God? If its not, itll go up in smoke...........so, stay connected to your source !

Have a nice day y'all and remember,God cares about you too much for you to ignore him,he loves you......do you love him back in return??

Guard!

Guard your thoughts because they become your words. Guard your words because they become your actions.Guard your actions because they become your character. And guard your character.WHY? Because it determines your destiny.

Have a nice day!

You are very special...God's own creation!Loved by God..........it doesnt matter what you're going through right now, pressure at work, decisions to make,coursework/projects to give in,exams to write, kids to raise(alone??),events to plan, business to start, and what have you?? When the going gets tough, the tough gets going! It sure isnt time for you to be downhearted and going on a guilt-trip.Instead,its time for you to raise your head and lift your shoulders, make up your mind"THIS TOO SHALL PASS!".
I have a major exam tomorrow but I am not scared at all,I feel peace within me cos i know I can only do my BEST and leave the REST for God. By strength shall no man prevail...
I just thought to use this opportunity to encourage as many as are in the same boat as me and going through similar things as Ive written above or bigger.........you're not alone.
You'd get through this, and it doesnt matter how long the night may seem,(i say this always)..........morning always come!
Quitters never win,and winners never quit.....ok?Be strong and of good courage.
You will smile again
